We do not accept orders for Afternoon Tea without prior notice. Dogs are welcome, so much so we now have a dog menu! (though we regret they cannot accompany their humans on tours). We serve the best Scottish food, wine, craft beers, ciders and of course our own Single Cask Single Malt Whisky made here on-site. Please as staff for details. The Black Bull Inn, Moffat is an independently owned, award winning Scottish hostelry, established 1568. The Greenhead Hotel was taken over in June 2020 by local proprietor Jordan Dodwell & his partner Anna Pearson. After a complete refurb they opened the doors on the 14th August 2020.Head Chef, Dan, & his young, eager team use the finest ingredients available using local butchers, suppliers and even forage in the nearby woodland. During the shooting season we source game from the local shoot which features on our specials board.Situated on the Northumberland and Cumbrian border, with Hadrian's wall on our doorstep, the hotel offers a cosy drinking area with locally sourced ale, a chic restaurant serving homemade classic pub food with a modern twist and 7 newly refurbished dog friendly en-suite guest bedrooms, alongside a 45 bed Hostel, providing the perfect base for your trip.

Went fo steak night.A fabulous steak with chips ,peppercorn sauce and portion of macaroni well presented and fabulous in taste.Service was quick efficient and very friendly.

I really enjoyed Rickerby Retreat and found the food and drink to be of high quality. Burgers and Falafel Wraps we’re key winners here - both very fresh, juicy and delicious. The ambience is very pleasant too and lovely views of the park but can get cooler on the terrace at a night and a little spooky with limited lighting. Service is acceptable - lacks personalisation and took a little while at times but still not terrible. Value was okay too.

Tasting menu, with whisky pairing (we've done wine pairings at plenty of places but this was something new), absolutely excellent. Everything, the food, service, ambience, staff, all outstanding.

Absolutely delicious food, well presented, very generous portions, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Pleasant ambience, warm and welcoming, and quite quiet. Would definitely return to try the other options!
