Magical is a word thrown around a lot when discussing Tavern On The Green and one can’t help but feel magic in the air. Jim and David, architect Richard Lewis and landscape architect Robin Key, preserved the Victorian/ Gothic elegance of the semi-circular building; it is authentic, natural, elegant and sexy. It has been re-built to spectacular precision and the décor is of a grand farmhouse one might find on the property of an Italian Villa or a historic Hudson River Valley mansion.Dress Code: Smart Casual. My wife and I were celebrating our 37th anniversary which I mentioned in the "Special" area when making the reservation on Open Table. The process was very simple and I did not give it any additional thought. When we arrived at the restaurant, :30 minutes early for our 7pm reservation. the Front of the House immediately remarked about our special evening and thanked us for choosing their restaurant to celebrate. Again, unsolicited, but we felt it was very nice that this was acknowledged. We've been to this venue multiple times, usually sitting outside, but this time we were seated inside the dining room, in a mini-mezzanine on the 54th street side. Service was excellent and we really wanted the cold seafood platter as well as the Tartare. Our server, Red, was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening, Leisurely pace of dinner and the evening was capped off with a wonderful gesture from the restaurant for dessert. Both of us were very pleased at how enjoyable and wonderful this anniversary dinner unfolded. Thank you La Grande Boucherie! We'll definitely be back for more!

Took my girlfriend here for her birthday, and the experience was incredible. The staff went above and beyond, even bringing out a candle and singing happy birthday. The steak was cooked perfectly, the mashed potatoes were amazing, and the tiramisu was the perfect finish to a great meal. Highly recommend!

It was my birthday and I was treating myself to a fancy dinner. From the moment I arrived the building, I was greeted by a kind lady saying "Happy Birthday." The nice ladies inside the establishment greeted me again with smiles and "happy birthday." My server, Carly, was a joy and made my celebration amazing with her great service and fun personality. The food was beyond delicious and the atmosphere sitting outside was remarkable. Thank you, Tavern on the Green, for making my birthday memorable.

I just cannot tell you how nice the front desk check-in employees were. Our reservation was honored exactly at the time requested (6pm) and they sat us right away. In addition,we had requested a round table because we were a party of 5 and they honored that request. The table they gave us was wonderful in that it was in a nice corner of the restaurant where there was not a lot of noise and our party could communicate. As always, the food was outstanding. From the shrimp scampi to the Caesar Salad to the penne pasta with the red meat sauce to the Veal Parmigiana. Everything was too good to just recommend one dish. We will definitely be back.

The decor is minimal and effortless, just as I would expect. The menu is well curated to have enough options but not feel overwhelmed by choices. The food was delicious. The salmon and cucumber salad- light and favorable, the cheesecake smooth and dreamy. The derive was top tier, appearing as you needed something but never hovering. This was my 40th birthday dinner and it everything I could have hoped for.
