Restaurants near Paramount Theatre

We were intrigued by the idea of a rooftop restaurant and bar on the very modern Populus hotel. The menu and reviews were conducive so we gave it a tumble. We started with hamachi crudo and smoked strawberry salad both of which had little surprise notes that were enjoyable. We moved on to the whole trout and a ribeye steak and ordered flame grilled cabbage as a vegetable. The flame grilling that is the signature in this restaurant is reminiscent of technique by Francis Mallmann and gives a nice crust on meat and crispy skin on fish. The garnishes with the dishes also added pleasant surprises to the presentations. We finished up with raspberry sorbet with lemon powder which was delightful. The restaurant has nice indoor and outdoor views of the west end of Denver and mountains beyond. There is a buzzy bar blending in with the restaurant. Staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. Noise level is moderate, but as a couple we were able to sit at adjacent sides of a square table facing a window so it was easy to talk.

Panzano is more than just a fantastic restaurant—it’s a place where hospitality shines, and where the team clearly takes pride in making every guest feel special. We can’t wait to come back!
