Built in 1880, The Inn was at one time a brothel, until it was raided by federal officers. The Inn was a favorite site of cowboys and teamsters, who appreciated the fine foods and jovial atmosphere.Over 100 years later, the Inn at Tres Pinos is now a San Benito County Historical Landmark, carefully restored by owner, Mike Howard. The ambiance is intimate, rustic, and elegant. It’s country with a touch of class, and decorated in a style that is a reflection of Mike’s personal interest. Mike's grandfather taught him the the art of fly-fishing, and every year the family still fishes together at the Big Wood River in Sun Valley, Idaho. Mike married Mary along the Big Wood River in 2010, and the Inn has become a true family affair. Mike’s philosophy is “Keep it fresh and keep it simple.” His staff is personally hand picked and will make every effort to meet your expectations. The Inn at Tres Pinos is the only four-star restaurant in San Benito Country.

    Nice atmosphere to bring a date. We went around 5 pm on a weekday and had a pleasant dinner on top of great conversation in a semi-private setting. Our server was attentive and another staff member refilled my water before I even asked. My only concern was that the gelato was half-melted when it was brought out to us. But overall it was a great experience and I would go again the next time I'm in Merced.

    We were a group of 9 and enjoyed the privacy of the wine room where we could engage in conversation and enjoy a fabulous dinner with impeccable service.     Our group enjoyed the music of tenor ED BENES together with our collegues. Pizza (all three choices) was amazing, a wonderful paring with their wine. This is a family centered event which seated at about 5PM and ended by 9 PM. No Cover. We will refer this venue to friends and family for an amazing evening in the outdoors with great food and live music.
