This restaurant housed in a former bank building in the heart of downtown Tipp City offers quality dining in a small-town setting. The decor is warm and welcoming and is a delight for the senses. The fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere while the full bar allows patrons a relaxing stop while awaiting a fabulous meal. The inviting atmosphere encourages relaxed conversation. Silas Creative Kitchen is one part of the Hotel Versailles in Versailles, Ohio. The other side is the 1819 Room. I was fortunate enough to have dined in both parts this past weekend. At the 1819 Room, we had a buffet dinner that was in combination with the local theater’s production that week. We had a marvelous meal of short ribs, chicken, a fantastic salad and more. Everything was perfect. The following evening, we decided to try the Silas Creative Kitchen. The atmosphere is beautiful and elegant, the servers were prompt, well-informed, and friendly- no complaints there whatsoever. The meal, however, was not what we hoped for. The bread plate was not complimentary, but we ordered it anyway and it was a nice sample of three kinds of bread. My spouse and I both ordered the strip steak with seasonal vegetables, my spouse had a side of roasted Brussels sprouts with dill, and I had a side of gnocchi. For the most part, it was tasty, the gnocchi however, was visually very unappealing. It swam in carrot butter and was sprinkled with what I later learned was puffed black rice, but it absolutely resembled dead bugs. I highly suggest they replace those with something else. It tasted fine, but it wasn’t exceptional, neither was the steak. It was good, but not fabulous, which was sort of what I was expecting from a $100+ meal. We didn’t even have wine or a cocktail, only ice water. After dinner, we were given a piece of dark chocolate along with another item which we were unable to identify. It was pinkish like bologna, but firm, with herbs and dried fruit on top- possibly tinted white chocolate? I took a bite and the rosemary was the only identifiable flavor. We love to dine in new places and have tried dozens of restaurants in dozens of places in the past few years, so we are not unaccustomed to new flavors, however, this meal just wasn’t quite what we hoped for. I would happily eat in the 1819 Room again, but we’ll likely give Silas Creative Kitchen a pass.

My daughter and I love this place. The Shrimp & Grits is Hall Of Fame level. The service is always great. The only thing I’d change is the noise level is a little high due to the seating plan/lack of semi-enclosed booths. Overall Próximo is still 4.97 stars because everything else is that great. It’s not unreasonably loud by any means, but not always easy to converse especially at lunchtime.

The food tasted amazing, when it finally arrived, and the atmosphere was very nice and enjoyable. The kitchen service was VERY slow - it took a very long time to get food to our table. We arrived at 5:00 and didn’t leave until 7:00 (2 hours)…we spent most of the time sitting and waiting on food. If the kitchen was more efficient, it would have been a perfect rating!!

Reservations included exactly what I requested. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced. It was an outside event, which accounted for the low ambient noise level, but, the entertainment was carried over built in speakers and sounded grest.
