"Sole Mio never disappoints! Our food was delicious (and it is wonderfully consistent from visit to visit), the service was outstanding, and the pace of the meal was perfect. Everyone in our family has their favorites. To start, my husband had the calamari appetizer (lightly breaded so that you can still taste the squid and with the proper balance of lemon acid so that it does not taste "fishy"). One of the girls in the family started with the clam chowder (one of the soups-of-the-day, and always delicious) and the other had the poached pear balsamic salad. The poached pear salad was beautifully done, and it has a perfect combination of textures and flavors; it is a plate-sized salad of mixed greens and romaine lettuce with walnuts, Gorgonzola cheese and balsamic vinaigrette topped with pear poached in port wine and balsamic vinegar. Our one girl has been away for several months, so she indulged in the seafood cannelloni, and it was as rich and creamy and as irresistible as ever. She forced her boyfriend to order the marsala ravioli (chicken and three-cheese filled ravioli with sautéed chicken and portabella mushrooms in a creamy sweet Marsala sauce) so that she could steal some bites of it, and thankfully he loved it as well. I have too many favorites at this restaurant, so I went to my old standby of lasagna (the béchamel sauce makes it truly addictive). We were too stuffed to have dessert this visit, but we have had them in the past and enjoyed them very much. Our waitress was attentive, but not hovering. The service team ensured that we had sufficient bread and their special butter (my family has a tendency to devour it because it is SO good) and kept our water glasses filled. Sole Mio is my favorite restaurant, and we feel fortunate to have it in Woodbury!"See more
