- CChrisWashington, D.C. Area •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoI must start by saying I’ve dined all over the world & never quite received service like I did at Eddie Vs. I was completely impressed with their professionalism and their customer service is second to none. Tony our server made it an experience not just a meal (timed every course out perfectly & kept our table clean) The service was wonderful. Our waiter was so attentive and accommodating. The ambiance was perfect & the food was cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chef & the management team Lorone, he’s quite proficient. I highly recommend this business. 5 star service.More infoEddie V's - Tysons CornerPrice: Very Expensive• Seafood• Tysons Corner / McLean•4.8
- JJanWashington, D.C. Area •47 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe (a party of 8) celebrated a birthday at J. Gilbert's. To start, the hostess was extremely helpful putting us all together at one table in a back room (initially we had 2 reservations for 4 each). Then our server, Durell, did a great job walking us through the menu, including children's options. Most of us had petit filets, which were flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. The crab cake order had two big jumbo lump crab cakes, which were reported to be excellent, as were the potatoes au gratin. The baked potatoes were huge and drenched in butter. The prix fixe menu is a good value as you get a soup or salad starter, a main course, and a desert. The winner of the deserts was the apple crostada (although it was served with chocolate, not cinnamon, ice cream as apparently they had run out of other flavors). If you really like carrot cake, I would not recommend their version as it's non-traditional with some sort of caramel stuff between the layers, making it way too sweet and overpowering the other flavors. Everyone went home stuffed, happy, and with leftovers :-) We'll definitely go back the next time we need a meat fix!More infoJ. - BBrianVirginia •3 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoFar exceeded my high expectations. I had heard good things about Aracosia McLean and had been looking forward to visiting. I haven't had Afghan food before, so keep that in mind. That being said, this was an exceptional experience and culinary bounty both in flavour and quantity. I will certainly be visiting again in the future. SERVICE: We were a party of 6 and had requested a reservation for 5:15p. We were quickly seated by a friendly hostess and were soon greeted by our server. We had an amazing experience during our visit at Aracosia. It was immediately clear that the staff cared about the experience of their diners. This is the epitome of what a fine restaurant experience should be. Our server, Kamyar (spelling?) was the consummate professional. He was attentive, genuinely friendly and efficient without being overbearing. He had the gift of making each table he was covering the focus of his attention. I wish all restaurants had waiters like him. Well done. FOOD: Excellent. Every dish. We started with lentil soup and the dumpling sampler. Wow. It was obvious that much care went into preparing the items and that the ingredients were fresh. Our food choices ranged from various meat stews to vegan options, and all were good. To me the spicy foods were perfectly seasoned, without being either too spicy or too bland. The flavours were subtle with multiple layers that would entertain your palate at different intervals as you ate. Not sure if that makes sense, but that was my experience. The quantity of food was enough to ensure that we would have leftovers for the following day. My mouth is watering typing this! Note: Spicy may be too hot for some. ATMOSPHERE: Upscale without being pretentious. Interesting and elegant decor. Quiet despite a full restaurant. CONCLUSIONS: Wonderful experience. Will be visiting again soon. McLean is lucky to have this restaurant in it's midst!More infoAracosia McLeanPrice: Moderate• Middle Eastern• McLean•4.8
- WWaldemarWashington, D.C. Area •12 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoSecond time and it was great. The only thing I’d suggest is to retrain wait staff about how to properly pour wine. Ours poured too fast every time, splashing the table and utensils around.More infoDivan - VirginiaPrice: Moderate• Persian• McLean•4.7
