Great service. Delicious buffet and drinks for Mother's Day.

We had reservations and Dinner was delicious - we had calamari appetizer and drinks at the bar for Happy Hour specials- calamari was crispy and delicious for reasonable $12 - we then had to close out tab rather than carryover to dinner tab at table - that was unexpected. Once at our table we had delicious entrees - service was good and portions were nice.

The service and the food was fantastic. The tables are packed together very tightly: less than a foot between them when seated and close enough that you could eat off of your neighbor’s plate. This didn’t make for a comfortable experience and staff was constantly bumping into guests, as much as they were trying not to. Probably violates codes too.

We really enjoyed our meals at Canal Side Inn. The food was excellent! Could not have been better. From interesting and fresh soup and salad choices, to well prepared and presented main courses and desserts, everything was great. The atmosphere is like taking a step back in time, with wood paneling and even a full phone booth outside the bar area. The music, tunes I remembered hearing at my grandparent's house, complemented the environment nicely. Tables were beautifully set and the service pleasant and attentive. The only thing that was a slight negative, and due to the age and location of the space, was a musty smell initially upon entering. A little bit like a grandparent's house, too! :) In no way did that impact the overall experience for us, and we will definitely be back.
