Restaurants near John Rousakis Plaza

Vanessa, the bartender, was amazing. She walked us through the menu and we had a lovely meal. We shared the quail app, which was wonderful. My wife had the crab cake (beware it’s huge!) and I had antelope. The antelope was so tender, I was honestly shocked having never eaten that type of game before. Please be sure to reserve well in advance. Thanks to Alligator Soul for making my birthday dinner one to remember.

Absolutely delightful from start to finish. We arrived a little early and did a wine tour with Mike, the GM. He gave us great insight into their wine program, storage, and about the restaurant itself. We then settled into a table upstairs ordered a white rioja off the extensive (and fun) wine list. I got the chef’s tasting menu with the mushroom bruschetta and the short rib ravioli - all delicious. My husband got the fried portobello that came with a fried rice and Brussels sprouts which had great flavor. Would highly recommend for a low key but top notch dinner when in Savannah.

We searched several seafood restaurants in downtown Savannah and were happy that we went with River House. From the ambiance to the service to the amazing appetizers and incredible entrees, our experience was great!

This place is AMAZING. We made a point to drive up from Florida for this restaurant. We have reservations for 2 of the 4 nights we are in Savannah. Check it out if you can. I highly recommend their fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, coconut shrimp and Caesar salad.

No complaints here, the food was great and the service was excellent. Matthew was our server and he did an amazing job. We highly recommend and definitely will eat here more often
