Best Quality Daughter houses a vibrant, chic décor and new, unique Asian-American menu. In 2018, chef Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, wanting to address the sparsity of Asian-American female chefs in South Texas, developed a new concept through a series of pop-up dinners called Best Quality Daughter with fellow chef Anne Ng and artist Jennifer Ling Datchuk. Today Best Quality Daughter is located in the historic Mueller House at the Pearl Brewery. Curated by chef Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, Best Quality Daughter's menu takes inspiration from her travels and the comfort food of her youth as a second-generation Chinese-American.

I have only been to BQD twice before tonight and both times were great. Tonight was no different service wise, but I was disappointed to see that many modifications to the menu were made, seemingly with the addition of spicier rather than mild food. It was cooked to perfection but some of the flavors were overpowering. Furthermore, the music was a little loud. Overall, I enjoy the restaurant and servers and will be coming back, however I hope they will bring back some of their former menu items.

The cocktails are perfect ( try the Side Car). We never pass up the wonderful raclette. We can never get past the appetizers. The French onion soup is very flavorful as are the scallops. Beautiful atmosphere, tastefully decorated for the holidays.

Good experience, service was incredible. Food was a little on the bland side. I expected more flavors from the cuisine. Pita bread was awesome. Desert was a disappointment. Ice cream good cake bland. Would definitely return, just won’t order the dessert.
