83 ½ is best described as a labor of love. A love of a family, friends and most importantly, food. Chef Vincenzo Mangiafridda, a twenty-year restaurant veteran of the Upper East Side, wanted to open a restaurant that spoke to his deep Sicilian roots. In 83 1/2, his vision has become reality. He created a menu of memorable Italian dishes including silky pastas, inventive antipasti, and delicious entrees. Above all, it’s Vincenzo’s love of people that makes 83 ½ what it is: a warm, welcoming place where friends and families share their passion for food and familiar faces. We can’t wait for your family to meet ours.

Oda House Offers authentic Georgian cuisine and natural wines. A liberal use of spices, kebabs, khinkali (oversized meat-and-cheese dumplings), mtsvadi, khachapuri (Georgian cheese bread) and adjaruli (Cheese boat) typify the kitchen’s preparations. But, more classic dishes may reveal satsivi, or boiled chicken, served cool in a warmly spiced and seasoned walnut sauce, accompanied by gomi. Oda House uses mostly fresh and organic ingredients sourced from local farms. Menu has plenty of vegan and Gluten-free choices.Maia Acquaviva, managing partner and executive Chef of Oda House, brings Georgian cuisine and a dose of Georgian culture and pride to NY. The passion she had from an early age to cook blossomed. Maia said, “Words cannot fully express how grateful I am for the opportunities that have been presented to me.” Her life motto is: If you want something with all your heart, the entire universe mobilizes around you to make your wishes come true!

The name “Amylos” denotes our passion for food and bringing to you Greece’s authentic flavors. We carefully chose the most original recipes ranging from various regions in Greece; starting from the southern Aegean islands to the northern mainland, each region has its own unique take on cooking. Amylos, meaning the “building blocks of food”, is synonymous to our concept of building a sustainable menu created from pure raw materials, attention to detail, nonnegotiable standards, and ingredients of the finest quality. Complete your pallet by indulging in our selective wine list which takes you through a journey of the old to new world. This, coupled with warm and friendly service, and our inviting, cozy ambiance are what make up the ingredients of Amylos’ recipe for “philoxenia”. Our concept is to honor the traditional Greek flavors and hospitality combined with the allure of modern presentation in a contemporary setting.

Home style Italian cuisine at its finest. Family style portions were huge. Each entree could feed about 4 people with leftovers. Service was top notch, atmosphere was fantastic, and the food was the best Italian food I have ever had. The calamari was lightly breaded and tender, with scratch made marinara sauce. The penne alla vodka was light and creamy and delicious, The broccoli was cooked perfectly and the chicken Parmesan was delicious as well. Highly recommend this place! Only wish we had one closer to home. The desserts looked amazing but we were stuffed from so much food.

We have typically eaten Sunday brunch here and were very disappointed when it closed and anxiously awaited its reopening. Well it opened in March and we were there Tuesday for lunch. There have been some renovations and upgrades particularly to the side room, but they are subtle. the food on the other hand was fantastic and I think an improvement. We had the Parker rolls which were excellent. the "salted" butter had shaved salt on top but could have used a little more for my taste. We then had the calamari and it was some of the best I have had, tender, not rubbery/chewy with a nice coating. Then the linguine with clams. Very interesting, different varieties of claims from very small to fat and juicy. I had never seen it prepared this way and the pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked. Lastly we had the chicken Milanese which moist and tender. Mohamed was our server who was attentive but not intrusive. The Boat House now takes reservations, which I highly recommend. We arrived at 11, and left about 1230, and when we left it was packed.

It was such a great experience eating a great meal at this establishment. Since I was a kid in nyc I’ve been wanting to go here. Tavern on the green has been somewhat of an Icon and it did not let down. From great staff service through amazing meals, it was not a let down. It truly live up to its hype. Definitely worth a trip, especially if you’re a native New York. It’s not just a “tourist attraction.” It’s something much more. It’s a staple to Central Park that I’m glad is still around.
