Restaurants near Howard Johnson Princeton/Lawrenceville

It has been a while since my wife and I dined at Rats. We had friends visiting and we took them to the Grounds for Sculpture. First, the setting and ambience of the restaurant is near perfect. There is a symbiotic increase in comfort and beauty between the restaurant and the sculpture collection, Second, the lunch was great, from the Trio of Spreads for appetizer, to the Steamed Mussels, Turkey Croissant and Rotisserie Chicken for main courses. Service was friendly and efficient. We are looking forward to returning soon.

We had 2 birthdays for a lovely lunch. Hermes was kind and attentive.

Amalfis is the go to spot for many locals and for good reason. Try the Bolognese and The spaghetti limone, Nonna’s meatballs and the salads, even the burgers are great. The bar staff, Jesse, Skylar, Sandy, Matt and Mike are excellent. The outdoor seating is very pleasant.

Very good food with excellent service. The shrimp and grits were very good (as usual); the cedar plank salmon was very good though the accompanying corn (a substitute item) was not; it was dry and not very flavorful. The desserts were reliably very good. Our Server, Karina B, was friendly, engaging, informative and professional. This was the second time she has been our Server and is a delight to work with.

I had the sacchetini pasta...small purses of ricotta cheese and pear puree in a champagne cream sauce with sundried tomatoes and grilled shrimp....to die for!!! Only pet peeve was they left the tails on the shrimp, would ask for them removed. Dinner is always wonderful!
