Restaurants near Grand Valley State University Pew Campus

I rated this restaurant 4 stars for 2 reasons…the first is that my husband’s Shrimp & Grits came out in a cold dish…he thought it would be hot, but he said it was cold. He loved his meal though. The second reason is that the hostess was not very friendly. When greeting customers it’s courteous to smile. I know it was busy, but really? Our friends loved their meals as well.

Great Service from the server and a beautiful restaurant!

We had a 5pm reservation before a concert at Van Andel Arena. Our table was waiting for us when we arrived. We waited about 10 min before someone stopped by to check in and see if we wanted to order drinks. We placed the drink order and we weren't given the opportunity to put in our appetizer. We ordered that when they came back with our drinks 10 min later. We were waiting on another guest to arrive so we chatted for a while. Our guest arrived and he had to wait a while before they came over to ask if he wanted a drink or we wanted another round. When the 2nd round arrived, 1 guest commented that it didn't taste the same as the 1st drink and asked if they could remake it. That's when our server (who was training someone on their 1st day!) had a change in her attitude. She wasn't happy with the request and told the guest that it was the same, just in a different glass. My friend poured the 2nd drink into her 1st glass and it was only 1/2 full. The server abruptly took her drink and with a condescending tone, said, Fine, we'll remake it. And walked away. She brought it back and said "does that look better?" Our service after that was not good. She had a tone and didn't like to be 'challenged' so that was disappointing. Our food was good, but the lack of customer service put a damper on our evening.

Burgers were ok to pretty good. Beer selection was great. Service was outstanding. Very quiet when we were there, but only 20% full on a Tuesday night.

Had a wonderful private dinner in the pods. Service was great and it was neat to enjoy a nice meal out listening to your own music!
