Restaurants near Grand Synagogue of Paris

Excellent restaurant in Paris. Was a bit off the beaten path which we loved. Very forgiving with our pathetic attempts at speaking French. Highly recommend

Mota was one of our favorite meals in Paris. Tucked into a quiet corner of the 9th arrondissement, this small, modern restaurant feels like a hidden gem—light, airy, and full of charm. We stopped in for lunch and they absolutely delivered. The appetizer and entrées were phenomenal, the macchiatos perfect, and the cheese plate was a standout. The rice pudding didn’t quite hit the mark for us, but everything else was so good, it hardly mattered. What really stood out was the atmosphere: we were the only tourists in the room, surrounded by French diners clearly enjoying themselves. It gave the whole experience an extra layer of authenticity. The wait staff were kind, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. If we lived in Paris, we’d be regulars here. Mota is a perfect example of modern French dining done right—elevated, approachable, and quietly special.
