They greet you with a smile and if you have a reservation, quickly seat you. Told her that mom and I were out for a fancy night and going to see a show, she suggested telling our server that and they have a theater menu. It looked like a cool experience, we went with the regular menu. Our service was amazing the whole night. He made sure what I needed would be safe for food allergies. They never let our water glasses get past half empty and if you get a bottle of wine, they are there filling it back up after barely taking a sip. We ordered a cheese board to start, save some goat cheese to eat with your steak! So so good! Main course was filet mignon, whipped garlic potatoes, and crispy brussel sprouts. The steak was seared to perfection, practically melted in your mouth, the goat just added that certain something. I could have made a meal of the potatoes and brussel sprouts alone. Sadly we did not have room for dessert, but our server did bring cookies out for us because it was our first time. If you’re looking for a special night out close to the theater district, come here, you won’t regret it. Side note: our server said, many patrons will park there and either walk/Uber to the theater and the restaurant will hold leftovers in the fridge to pick up after the shows.

Uchi is easily our favorite sushi restaurant in Texas. The Houston location has consistently provided amazing service and food every time we go. Our favorite thing to do is sit at the Sake bar and have the folks there send us out various plates depending on our likes and moods. They know their stuff! plus an excellent Sake selection.
