Stephen Starr’s Buddakan is a spectacular restaurant featuring exotic flavors of modern Asian cuisine with creativity and drama. Bon Appetit notes, "The mostly white space is striking, with a lit-from-within communal table in the middle of the room, a waterfall & a ten-foot, candle-bedecked Buddha. The religious icon watches over hip customers indulging in pan-Asian cuisine that far surpasses the fare usually found at hot spots like this." Newsweek reports, "Design also serves as a signifier for cuisine. You walk into Buddakan, one of the hottest new restaurants in Philadelphia, past a shimmering waterfall & Japanese river stones & you say to yourself, 'ginger-miso everything' even before you see the magnificent 10-foot Buddha dominating the dining room." Named one of “America's Top 50 Restaurants" by Travel & Leisure and 'Top Restaurant for Fun' by Gourmet, Buddakan has become one of the country's most talked about restaurants.

We loved The Love. The food was outstanding but I did find that the Shrimp and Scallops Cacio e Pepe was a bit on the salty side. Nevertheless, I did enjoy it very much. The ambient noise level was moderate so I wouldn't say that it was quiet but you could definitely have a conversation. It would bother folks that have issues with ambient noise or are hard of hearing. The place was so lovely and the service was excellent. I highly recommend it!

I'm a regular and don't usually leave reviews, but I will this time. Parc is the only Steven Star restaurant I like since it does a pretty good job of being French. This is especially true at Christmas. Rittenhouse Square has French influences and there was a man selling art on the sidewalk. C'était parfait hier soir... The food is very French. It's one of the few places where you can get une véritable baguette. Even better: tarte tatin! It's a great place to people watch and imagine you are in France. I do have to say that the service is great although the bus crew was a little over zealous removing plates before I was ready. They shouldn't just take without asking. Although, I know that won't be a problem in future since the management is very attentive. Visit and you will see why it's one place I have to visit when I am in Philadelphia.

A wonderful dining experience. Everything was fresh and well seasoned; the beet and ricotta salad was outstanding. I had the branzino and my husband had the pork marsala; both were delicious. Our server, Tracy, was knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent cocktails, interesting desserts and a beautiful garden setting. A little pricey but worth the money!

This second visit to the Lucky Well was as good as the first time. Our party enjoyed the entire menu of Philly Tapas and a delicious ginger cocktail from the bar. Chef Hatim created an extraordinary culinary experience from the tapas - croquettes, grilled veggies, potatoes and more to the main courses of his signature seafood paella, fried codfish and beef cheek. The flavor experience culminated with his own extraordinary take on tarta de queso! To call this confection a cheesecake is not sufficient… it is creamy, smooth and melts on the plate before your eyes… a MUST HAVE ITEM at the Lucky Well!
