Was really looking forward to my visit and a ploughman's lunch..., whilst the venue and service was very good the value for money was not! Whilst I enjoyed my ploughman's lunch and my wife enjoyed her shredded duck starter it was not as expected. The ploughman's was less food than expected especially afterwards looking at the photo on the website which is not what I had! No apple, minute piece of cheese, two small pieces of bread and had to request butter, we asked for extra bread and had two even smaller slices for an additional £2. Poor value though what we had tasted good. In two minds about going again to be honest. My wife is more vocal than I am and she was fuming!!

The carvery was excellent as usual. I’d requested a quiet table as I had two dogs with me and it was ideal. The staff even put a personal bowl of water down for the dogs
