Marche, located in Eugene, Oregon, opened in August 1998. The restaurant, which seats 80 guests, has an exhibition kitchen featuring a beautiful wood-fired oven. There is also a stylish bar and a large outdoor dining area, covered with awnings and umbrellas and surrounded by a garden of herbs and edible flowers. Marche takes its name from the French word for market – a word that describes our location in the bustling 5th street Market and more importantly, our philosophy of cooking. The menu is based on the foods one would find at a farmer’s market: fresh, seasonal, and regional. Marche is committed to using only those ingredients that are at their best, so our menu evolves as we move through the seasons of the year. Marche also believes in using the highest quality and most healthful ingredients available and to that end use organic, free range, and chemical free products. The culinary technique is French-based: intensely flavored and simply but beautifully presented.

    We have had many wonderful meals here and tonight was another. We shared bread and a salad. My wife had a corn pastry on a bed of roasted vegetables. I had the bouillabaisse. All perfect with very friendly and professional service. Only complaint might be to ask for a little more generous pour for the price of a glass of wine. We’ll be back.

    Perfect place for an anniversary dinner! Small intimate space. Everything we tried was delicious. We ordered the prosciutto and burrata and shared both the pasta specials. My espresso martini was also great. Can’t wait to eat here again.

    I knew I’d enjoy dinner here but was surprised by how much! Started with sweet WA oysters. The Caesar salad was large enough to split and couldn’t have been better. We shared the large bone-in ribeye and still had enough left over for a midnight snack. Ordered the baked potato and asparagus, too. BUT what really made our meal stand out was the SERVICE. Very few restaurants in Eugene have done as good of a job teaching wait/service staff how to provide 5 star service. Our server, Chris, balanced professional friendly with privacy to enjoy our meal. We never felt rushed and our needs were anticipated. It was expenses but worth the cost. Wonderful place for a celebration or amazing dinner out. Give it a try.
