The Valiant Sailor is sat on top of the famous White Cliffs in Capel le Ferne, between Folkestone and Dover next to The Battle of Britain Memorial. It is a traditional family and dog friendly pub with a roaring open fire in the winter. The kitchen is open for lunch and dinner, serving delicious meals and snacks. We have a range beers plus a selection of fine wines, spirits and soft drinks. There is a large beer garden and a spacious car park. The pub is on the North Downs Way and is part of the Woodland Walk and we welcome ramblers and walkers. The Royal Oak is in walking distance, so we popped down one Thursday evening. It was fairly quiet when we arrived at seven so we had our pick of tables. There was a really friendly and helpful welcome and service, with drinks bought to the table. Food arrived before long. Chips were crisp outside and fluffy in, and a good portion. Chicken was as described on the menu, simple and tasty. Staff had a friendly chat with us when we left. The pub interior has had a sympathic make over, and is clean, comfortable and good to visit. The evening got busier, so a popular venue. We will be back.
