"We liked our meals- most of us got one of the tagines. They were very tasty, although we couldn't quite understand why they are no longer cooked with the couscous at the bottom to catch all the flavor. In fact, some of the tagines did not come with rice or couscous, so be sure to order a side. The meze were really nice, although the waiter was no help when asked what was in the Zaalook (which was terrific).
The little details got in the way of me giving 5 stars. Although the restaurant was nearly empty (on a Sunday night in the summer, that's fair), our empty dishes sat and sat and sat. Someone in our party had to call the waiter over to clear the dishes, it had been so long, but the job was not completed as there were still dishes in front of me when the baklava arrived and we had to ask again.
Unfortunately, we had to send the baklava back. Our family has had all versions of this dessert, and this was not good at all.
A number of times we asked the expeditor for a drink, or to order a side dish, but he always told us he would have to send over the waiter. which would take an extra 5 minutes.
All told, we enjoyed our meal, but we're not in a rush to return."See more
"When we walked in for our 1:00 lunch reservation on a Tuesday in August, the restaurant and bar were empty. The website has beautiful photos of the harbor from the outdoor seating. But, the indoor seating has limited, unremarkable views. I was worried that we made a huge mistake.
However, the service was great and the food was delicious. I ordered a salad with crispy salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked with crispy skin and tender meat. My friend is a big crab cake lover and said they were very good.
The wine list was just ok. Bottles started at $50. But, the selection was not special. We were celebrating a birthday and wanted wine so we ordered the Chateau St. Michelle Riesling to go with fish. I often buy that wine at Trader Joe's for less than $15/bottle so it hurt a little to pay $50 even allowing for the service.
I would recommend this restaurant for the food but not the views or wine."See more
"The lobster ravioli special was amazing. The restaurant is slightly off of the main drag which meant we didn't have to wait for seating. Service was outstanding and we sat at a lovely table open to the street. The pasta prices are comparable to others in the area, which is not cheap. However, they had other options that were more affordable. I would definitely go again."See more
"Table Boston is the definition of "THE Diamond in the Rough" Although it shouldn't be, as this award-winning restaurant is everything you would expect from a 9 course dinner. From the gnocchi Bolognese to the lemon chicken and everything in between and after. This place is a must visit. Chef Jen Royle is a food artist with her plate presentations and her exquisite recipes. These dishes are heightened only by the expert wine pairings from Italy and Napa by Cat and Tim. I travel across the states and abroad and this place is my new #1.
It is a "Table share" experience, so open your mind, get to know your table neighbor and enjoy an evening experience that you will not forget.
Congrats to Chef Jen! Bon appetit!"See more
"Food was very good initial service was great. Bought a good, but over priced bottle of wine. One initial pour and nothing else. No attempt was made to clean up the table after the food was removed, check was placed on top of a small pile of food, not what I call service!"See more
