Had a great meal. My wife had the goulash and I had the calves liver. If you are hesitant about ordering liver, try this! The liver is thin-sliced and very tender. The onion and bacon with the sauce make it very tasty. Comes with roasted carrots and asparagus and a generous amount of mashed potatoes. My wife enjoyed her meal, as well. She had a side of their creamed spinach. We didn't have dessert, and I had their root beer to drink ( I didn't have my usual beer because I didn't want to fall asleep at the CSO concert we were attending). We've been going to the Berghoff for years, and was a little disappointed that they didn't serve bread beforehand. We used to love their rye. We learned from the server that there is a $2.00 charge for bread now. I guess we should have asked for it. Also my wife observed that the spinach, although good, is not the same as it used to be. We couldn't quite figure out what was different. A classic Chicago Restuarant!

This is a very classy place. Beautifully decorated, very attentive staff, tasty menu in the quite pricy bracket.

Great overall experience. The martini was way overpriced but probably 1 of my best. Great service and the food was really good. Will be back.
