Open Mon/Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun, closed Tues/Wed. Muoi Tieu is a cozy family-run Vietnamese restaurant and market in the heart of Takoma Park, Maryland, with a small but carefully curated menu that offers a combination of popular Vietnamese dishes (e.g., pho, spring rolls) and less common home-style dishes (e.g., braised pork belly, pan-fried fish with ginger nuoc cham) with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options. Our small market also offers a variety of common Vietnamese condiments, pantry items, and Asian snacks. Like our name, which means "salt and pepper" in Vietnamese, our concept is simple: we want to bring classic, savory Vietnamese food to our community.

Upon entering Huncho House, you are greeted by a warm host, a complimentary glass of champagne for each guest (of legal age, of course), and a warm welcoming ambiance. The staff is well trained, knowledgeable, and exceedingly professional. Huncho House has successfully implemented a high end dining program without a pretentious feel. We had the pleasure of being served by Gigi who knows the menu like the back of her hand. She was exceptional, and every other member of the team who we interacted with was too. We had the charbroiled oysters (very good), Jerk short ribs with curry pea risotto (outstanding), Crab fried rice with salmon (outstanding), filet mignon (outstanding) for our mains. Our sides were the Huncho House mac and cheese (outstanding times 2), mashed potatoes (outstanding) and asparagus (very good). This is not an inexpensive restaurant. Please come prepared to spend. The restaurant adds a 20% service charge to all checks which covers 10% to the server and 10% split amongst the rest of the staff. The service is worth an additional tip above and beyond! (any additional tip goes directly to your server). We will definitely return for a celebration soon- this is not a regular eat out place for us for the cost, but is absolutely at the top of our list for any celebrations we can make it there for. Thank you to the chef and staff for a wonderful experience for our birthday celebration!

I booked this place last minute for Mother's Day..I didn't even know this quaint place existed. I drive past often to go to work. We were sat immediately and the sever, Don, came and greeted us explained things very well. The only thing is that the food did take a long time. I appreciated the communication about why the food was taking so long. they were overloaded with orders. When the food came out it was Soo good. My mom, daughter, and I left with our bellies full! I will come again!!
