The Late August name derives from the joyful time of year when the Sears catalog would arrive at your doorstep, bringing a deep desire and wonderment to all who would receive it and begin feverishly circling the items that would hopefully arrive for Christmas.Our restaurant, set in the previous Historic Downtown Sears building, seeks to bring that same wonder to guests through its atmosphere, service, and cuisine. Echoing the mission of Lucille's Hospitality, which is committed to “Serving the Past, Feeding the Future,” Late August’s menu explores the culinary heritages of Chef Chris Williams and Chef Sergio Hidalgo by bringing the dishes and flavors from both their youths and the experiences to date creating a culturally culinary celebration.

Located in a former auto shop in the vibrant Montrose neighborhood near The Menil Collection and Museum District, Clark’s Houston is the third and largest location of our popular neighborhood oyster bar and seafood restaurant. Opened in Fall 2023, Clark’s features freshly shucked oysters, crudo, lobster roll, daily fish specials, caviar and blini, bowls of chowder and cioppino as well as a much-loved burger and shoestring fries.The restaurant specializes in martinis and signature cocktails as well as an extensive Champagne and wine list. The design is light, bright, and airy with nautically-themed touches including a centerpiece fish tank, teak wood furniture, bright white walls, and blue and turquoise tones.In addition to a marble-topped oyster bar and dining room, there’s a large, covered patio for prime people watching and oyster slurping.     We had a wonderful experience! The food was fresh and full of flavor, and the drinks were expertly made—smooth and not overly strong. A standout detail: the martinis came with goat cheese–stuffed olives, which was a unique and tasty touch. Our server, Gabby, was warm and attentive, making our anniversary dinner feel extra special. We’d absolutely recommend this place!

    My favorite steakhouse ever here in Houston to celebrate special occasions. Michelle A. was the most personable and friendliest server we have ever had here and made our anniversary memorable. Kiet the manager also stopped by to say hi. The staff here is also so great! 100/10

    Wonderful dinner for 4. Started with drinks and the plantain appetizer- all were very very good. Server was excellent; she was informative but not hovering, a really good balance. Entrees were the Paella, mushroom gemelli, carbonara pasta and the Steak Frites- everything was excellent. Ambience is charming. We will definitely return! Note- parking is valet but it is free for the restaurant.
