- BBrandieGreater Boston •20 reviews4.0Dined on May 10, 2025First the positive. The service was outstanding. The place was hopping at 5 pm on a Saturday evening, so it's obviously very popular. The thai noodles were delicious and the french fries are excellent. The incredible salsa is incredibly garlicky. More jalapeno, less garlic would be my personal tastes, but I didn't mind it. However, my 2 dining partners definitely didn't love it. The fish and chips are a bit different. The fish looks like chicken tenders. The breading is good, but there was one that was inedible, tough and chewy, a little weird. And my Korean Chicken sandwich was a hot mess. The breading was burnt, not enough slaw or sauce. Should have been messy, did not taste a hint of cilantro or apple. All in all, I drove 45 minutes to try the place and if I stop again, it'll be because I'm passing through. There are more things on the menu I would like to try. But I won't get my husband back there. Again, the service was excellent and I enjoyed the vibe. The bar was full, so it's obvioulsy a popular choice for the Middlebury crowd.More infoTwo Brothers Tavern + NottePrice: Moderate• American• Montpelier•4.6

- JJenniferVermont •2 reviews5.0Dined on Sep 14, 2024What a gorgeous end-of-summer night we had at the Lake House Pub and Grill. The hostess sat us on the outdoor deck, and we got to watch a spectacular sunset during dinner. I have two teenage boys with very different palates. My youngest ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with nothing on it (chicken and bun only, with fries) and was delighted with his dish (a rare experience with a picky eater). He said the chicken was perfect, and the fries were “huge,” and possibly the best he ever had. My older son was more adventurous. He ordered the “ahoy nachos” (basically sashimi tuna with seaweed salad on fried wonton “chips.”) it looked exquisite, and he loved it. He even allowed me to try one, and it was a delicious concoction. He also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, a hearty dish of cavatappi pasta with a generous portion of lobster meat in a creamy cheese sauce. Two thumbs up. I ordered eggplant fries (mmm…) and a honey/soy Thai inspired swordfish dish from the specials menu. The fish was cooked perfectly, so tender and juicy, with a nice char on the outside and a yummy sauce. It came on top of rice noodles with edamame, peppers and snap peas. The veggies were nice and crisp. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect night, weather-wise, or a more beautiful location. Also, all of the staff was absolutely lovely, friendly, professional, and seemed to be having a good time. They work as a team. Bravo! We will be back.More infoThe Lake House Pub & Grille on BomoseenPrice: Moderate• American• Castleton•4.5
