A Memorable Birthday Dinner at The Gates on Roblin We recently celebrated a 70th birthday with a dinner for three at The Gates on Roblin, and everything about the evening was just beautiful. The dining room is elegant, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and we were lucky to have a lovely corner table with a wonderful view — the perfect setting for a special occasion. Our server was excellent — warm, funny, and attentive. He offered helpful suggestions, including the beet salad, which I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed. For my main course, I had the prime rib with Yorkshire pudding — it was cooked perfectly and served beautifully. If I had one very small suggestion, it would be to offer a milder option for the horseradish. I enjoy the flavor, but it was quite strong — just a little more kick than I could handle! A gentler version or the choice between mild and hot would have made it perfect. Overall, it was a lovely evening with delicious food, great service, and a truly charming setting. We had a reservation on a Thursday 5:30 p.m. Great service, great food. It was quiet at that time being late afternoon/early evening. Very good experience. We've always liked the keg as they are so consistent with everything.

Appetizer shrimp was excellent as was pizza but the Focaccia appetizer was soggy and underbaked.

Service was excellent! Food was delicious and the atmosphere watching the Jets win their second game in the first round of playoffs was amazing and fun!

Good food. I love the dynamite shrimp. I didn’t realize till too late that one of my guests did not receive chili oil with their fish tacos, at least it used to come with and is a game changer for me. I do recommend the restaurant for good selection, quality, and service.
