Le Yaca began in 1964 in Courchevel, a tiny, country village in the French Alps. Daniele Bourderau & Gerard decided it would be fun to open a small restaurant. When friends learned of their plans, they told the hopeful restaurateurs they were crazy to think people would drive eight kilometers on a winding, icy road for dinner. Daniele and Gerard hesitated for three months and then decided, “yaca le faire,” a contraction of the French phrase “il n’y a qu’a le faire,” which basically means, “let’s do it.” They called the restaurant Le Yaca as a gag, but the name caught on with customers who were amused by the pun and contributed to the restaurant’s lore by inventing “yaca-isms” of their own: yaca y aller (let’s go). Daniele came to the United States and opened Le Yaca in Williamsburg. Daniel Abid bought Le Yaca in 2001. Daniel worked and trained in such prestigious places as “Le Pre Catelan” and “Lenotre” in Paris; “L’Amandier” and “Roger Verge," and to top it all off, “Alain Ducass

Food was excellent, service was delightful. The ambiance is warm, comfortable and inviting. All of my group had seafood dishes and we were all impressed and satisfied. Wanted to try one of their famous desserts but we were too satisfied with the main course.

Christiana Campbell's is our favorite tavern to dine at in Colonial Williamsburg. Our visit on 7/24/24 certainly didn't disappoint! From the greeting we received from the hostesses, chatting with our friendly and knowledgeable server Amanda, listening to the songs from the minstrel, consuming our delicious meals and biding goodbye to fellow diners we met while there afforded us a wonderful experience (as usual)! Don't miss the Seafood Pye...it's amazing!

Beret’s is our go to restaurant every time we are in Williams. We love it because the service is always top shelf, they know how to make a great cocktail, the oyster selection is the best in town, the location is perfect, and most importantly they consistently serve the finest food of any restaurant we have tried in or near Williamsburg. We visit several times a year and have done so for over a decade, never once has Berret’s disappointed!

Wonderful place. Ambience is something I love, and if you’re into history (though the building itself is not as old as one might think, but replicates everything), than you’ll love this place. I tried a variety of foods, my taste pallet not the most sophisticated, but liked pretty much everything. Nice little corner table, candle lit, music from the 1700’s played by a musician, just fantastic. My son and I explored the upstairs, and just all around excellent place to visit and eat at. It is pricey, but in the larger scheme of things, it’s not much more than eating at any other chain restaurant. For example, 2 adults, 1 child: $80+ with tip included. I highly recommend if you can get a reservation-especially after a day visiting all the historical places with the pass to end the day around 5:30PM. Enjoy!
