On May 3, 2025, my wife and I celebrated our 56th wedding anniversary at The Tarratine. A delightful young lady seated us at the front window table in a dining room which has the bar. We went early, for the 4:30 opening and, although other guests came and were seated in other rooms, we enjoyed a very private and quiet dining experience except for one time when the person tendimg bar had to shake a cocktail. The table was of perfect size for the two of us, our waitress was exemplary, and the foid was outstanding. I ordered the crab cake appetizer and was amazed to find them to be the best I have ever had in Maine. While not the the blue claw crabs served in Mayland, these crab caked far surpassed all crab cakes I have had in Maine. Both of us enjoyed caesar side salads with scallops. The salads were wonderful and the additional scallops were prepared to perfection. For an entree, my wife ordered the chicken roulade whuch was served along string beans on a bed of mashed potatoes. I enjoyed a meal of scallops, risotto, corn and pork belly. Everything we ate was absolutely delightful to the eye and the stomach. I should note that we were served ample portions and, although we passed on some delicious sounding deserts, we did not leave hungry. We enjoyed an outstanding dining experience for our 56th. This was our first time at Kanu and we will be back! The drinks were generous and while the Prosecco was a bit stale, my friend was immediately brought a another fresh one. We had the Blush Salad and Forager Pizza, both were excellent, in fact the pizza may be the best I have ever had (and I have had a few pizzas)- several types of mushrooms, one sweet, meaty, and juicy, and there was just a touch of lemon. It was quiet while we were there, but it was early and we were gone by 6:30.

Very good discovery in Bangor. We order Pizzas, Chicago style was amazing, and Fish and chips that my eldest son loved it. The service was great. Very good value for money in a very informal fancy American style place. Will come back.

We traveled over five hours from Massachusetts to check out a local college and stayed overnight in Bangor. My nephew loves BWW and it was a great time to relax with him after a long day. The food was perfect and the wait staff was great. Highly recommended
