A mix of modern and traditional Italian cuisine, our cozy ristorante has long been a local favorite. Sisters Anna and Maria, originally from the Basilicata region of southern Italy, first opened the doors of Anna Maria Pasteria in 1989. Beginning at age seven, Anna fell in love with cooking, creating her first plate of Pasta e Fagioli, a simple peasant dish that is now an Italian specialty. Enamored with cuisine and hospitality, Maria followed the family tradition and put her heart into making the best and most heavenly Tiramisu. After three decades, Anna and her team continue to dedicate themselves to the finest homemade Italian cuisine and service. Spent the day exploring northern Illinois, and got back to Wrigleyville to our air b and b. We needed a place to eat. Of course the neighborhood is mobbed following the Cubs game. But we were able to get a reservation at Swift and Sons. We made our way to the restaurant and were seated upstairs I loved the food. We were starving, there was a breeze, we had the view of wrigley, it was just perfect. Our server was attentive and helpful. It was a perfect evening.

Everything we tried was absolutely amazing. I think both the green and red tamales as well as the Tres leches cake were showstoppers above and beyond the other fantastic things we ate. There was also a special of pork ribs in a peanut sauce that can only be described as “I had no idea something could taste like this, Yum Yum” You definitely need a reservation because the place is small. The strawberry guava margarita was wonderful and I had one with mezcal from their hometown and one with tequila. Both were delicious.

My experience was excellent. My waiter got me out in time for the show and helped with recommendations. I loved the non- alcoholic drink I had, post-watermelone. The pizza was eh, I liked the sauce and cheese but wasn't crazy about the crust. I'd probably try something else off the menu. I did get a cinnamon roll cookie that outsdanding. The ambiance was great. I wasn't in the room with the glass ceiling, but I got a nice booth and it was somewhat loud but not horrible. I was very impressed by this restaurant between the atmosphere, the service, and the drinks/food. Overall, I would recommend it. I'd say definitely make a reservation ahead of time (it was packed on a Saturday night). I'd also say it's a bit pricey but worth it for the quality of service, atmosphere, and most of the food/drinks I had outside of the pizza, which others may like.

I took my parents here on a Monday night expecting a good meal. We split the carrots, savoy cabbage, mushrooms, salmon, and mussels. We had an absolutely phenomenal meal - way better than I imagined. Everything had amazing flavors, but nothing was too aggressive. The service was also excellent!
