Booked for a quiet relaxed meal with my husband to celebrate his up coming birthday. Was greeted with a warm smile for all the staff and taken to our table promptly. The deco was simply but elegant, complementing the age of the building and lots of room between table so not on top of each other. As for the food beautiful cooked affair well presented and a good selection to choose from. Will defo go back with family next time as its great for all types of gatherings.

Beautiful restaurant with excellent food and choice we have used for over many years during which it has got even better.

During a short break at the Black Bull we had two very good evening meals there. On our first night it was Curry Night - top notch food, fresh, tasty - my lamb rogan josh & my wife's Keralan fish curry both excellent (as was the onion bhaji, nothing like ones you get from a supermarket!). On our last night it was the a la carte menu, and that was a special meal - high quality, excellent presentation, really enjoyable. The starters & dessert were very good, my wife's monkfish and my venison both superb. The Black Bull definitely deserves its reputation for excellent food.

The food was amazing we didn't have a starter as we choose mixed grill for 2, there was enough food actually for 3 people. Unfortunately 2 members of staff hadn't arrived so it took nearly an hour for the food to arrive which is why I haven't given 5 stars for service, but those people working were friendly polite and apologetic for the delay . Would definitely recommend the restaurant
