Lancelot Slee, or Lanty as he was to be known, has been described as a ‘stiff, fresh-faced man of great endurance’, famous for supplying the Lake District with his illicit Liquor for over 50 years.Born in 1802, he had an illustrious career, working as a Quarryman by day and bootlegging by night, packing his horses’ hooves with wad to silently transport his produce past the Excise men and over mountain passes.This got Lanty into all sorts of scrapes with the law, but mysteriously he was rarely caught or fined, as whenever the Excise thought they had him, he was already long gone, operating Stills in caves and on fells all over the Langdale Valley.It is from this very valley we source our water and botanicals, just as Lanty did, he knew there was something in those ancient igneous fells that made for the best Liquor, and we agree. If you feel like becoming a moonshiner after you finish the bottle don’t worry you’ve just got a l’al Lanty in thoo.

Our first time dining at Easy Breeze but we would definitely visit again! Staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was amazing! Highly recommend the salt and pepper chicken!

The food was good quality although the service while polite and welcoming could be a lottery due the lack of training. The main issues with forgetting to remembering to bring an item. They would also bring what you requested and walk back to the kitchen empty handed despite there being dirty tables.
