Lake Elmo Inn
The Lake Elmo Inn has been chosen as one of the top 100 Brunches in the nation by Open Table. From shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon, double smoked ham, and carved rounds of beef, to eggs Benedict, Belgium waffles, mouthwatering salads, and fresh seasonal fruit, the Lake Elmo Inn serves a Sunday Brunch that is artfully prepared and elegantly presented.
Friends and I were celebrating a birthday lunch so this was a special occasion. Our waitress was completely involved with a table of 10 or 12 nearby.
We had to ask for a cup for a friend’s coffee twice. She never brought it so we finally flagged down the busboy who secured one. I ordered sweet potato fries but was given regular. When my order was corrected, the fries arrived but they were nearly cold. It was obvious that we were celebrating a birthday, given the birthday gift bags in plain sight, but I had to ask if there was a special dessert or glass of champagne for the guest of honor. This was not the Lake Elmo Inn I remembered.
Wonderful experience. Worth the drive on slippery roads. Free glass of champagne for our anniversary celebration. Staff is terrific. Decorated beautifully for the holidays.
Delicious salmon special
The Christmas decorations were outstanding, nutcrackers and ornaments everywhere. The wait staff was incredible.
Sunday brunch is fabulous!
Excellent food, great service, nice champagne complimentary gift in acknowledgement of our celebration. Suggestions were appropriate and dessert was excellent.
We think the breakfast buffet has really gone down hill the past few years. The cinnamon rolls have become mini rolls. The quality of the eggs and meats is just very average. We suggest cancelling the November/December breakfast buffets in the future. They're not up to your very high standards.
Waitress was not very knowledgeable and not great all around.
The food was exceptional. I never thought that a quinona salad could taste that great. I would have preferred the Foix Gras cut fresh and without the Mango chutney on top. Great Foix gras should stand alone on the toasted baguette. My friend’s steak tasted great, even though the broiler cooked it somewhat unevenly. But it was med rare plus which he appreciated
I ordered a glass of French Trimbach Riesling. This Alsatian wine should be treated almost like a good ice wine and well chilled. I had to ask for a more chilled one which they did chill a fresh bottle to serve one glass, took time, but it was appreciated
Our seating was a little goofy. Since I reserved a table for two they did give us a nice booth in a half moon shape, meant more for couples, we weren’t a couple eating there. That’s something they need to pay attention to, outliers like two male or females who aren’t couples, just friends
Overall It’s a really good place, somewhat out of the way in a area that should expand a lot more, now that they are on city water
Wonderful meal and service. Very nice time. From the beginning to end it was great.
The food is spectacular as always. The staff are friendly and attentive. He allowed me to get the giftcard special early! Our favorite place for a nice meal.
Great food served cold otherwise it's always outstanding. The meal was good but not worth the price. A cold steak and am ice cold potato.
Lake Elmo Inn has a great saturday brunch in the fall - food is so good and there Sunday brunch is outstanding I look forward to stopping in soon!! Becky is a great waitress Absolutely love her!!
Great saturday brunch, wish they would do it year round.
The Saturday breakfast buffet at the Lake Elmo Inn is always something my husband and I look forward to. The food is somewhat predictable, but the changing entree item keeps it from becoming boring. Everything is presented in a classy manner, and the hot food is hot and the cold food is cold. Our waitress was attentive without being annoying present, and the entire staff is geared toward their guests' comfort. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant too. You know you will have a fine dining experience without having the stuffiness of other fine dining establishments. I also love the decor. It's always very pretty and cute, but they go all out at the holidays with their decorations. This place is a gem, in my opinion!
Everything perfect. Our waitress has worked at the Lake Elmo Inn for 36 years. Many others have worked there for many many years as well. A tribute to management and the restaurant. Everything was perfect as always. We love the Lake Elmo Inn , best restaurant East of the Twin Cities and one of the best in the entire Twin Cities. I love the duck. MK
Celebrated an Anniversary at Elmo Inn. Craft cocktails were lovely, supper was Ribeye & Pork Chops - both cooked to perfection, & a variety of the Inn's specialty desserts. The celebration could not have been better. Lisa (our attendant) was spot-on & Curtis is Bartender Extraordinaire.
We had a very relaxing dinner, with great food and good service. The ambiance was very nice and at the same time relaxing.
Price was about what you would expect. The quality of food, service, and decor was unexpected — exceeded my expectations. Had the special waygu tenderloin and it was an awesome cut of meat. My wife enjoyed her filet mignon. Will definitely return.
I have not been to the Inn in many years. That was a mistake. The food, service and ambience were wonderful! It was the first time my wife has been to the Inn and won't be the last. She was very impressed. We live in the Valley and there are many fine restaurants to choose from. The Inn is at the top of our list and we will bring visiting family and friends to the Inn whenever we can. We don't take for granted the care, effort and expertise to put on a fine meal with great service in a spotless facility. Great job. See you soon.
The Lake Elmo Inn remains one of the jewels for dining in the eastern St. Paul suburbs. Special Occaision or just looking for a great, relaxing meal, it is the place to go.
This is the place to go for consistently good food. I especially enjoy the little extras such as the warm towel, lemon sorbet before dinner, and the chocolate covered strawberries - ALL included. The mixed vegetables with the meal are always delicious and much appreciated. Generally, they are the first thing to disappear on my plate. The Sin of the Inn dessert delivers a spark of joy to my tastebuds. Thank you for all of your years of excellent dining, Lake Elmo Inn.
Food was flavorfully outstanding. Attentive service. All four in our group left highly satisfied. Worth every dollar. Thank you!
Selection of food was fantastic! Service was great also. Will be back.
The Lobster bisque was not warm. I ordered a filet and my wife grilled shrimp. My steak was a little tough and the drawn butter my wife got for her shrimp was cold. Not the best meal we have had there, but will go back because normally the food is normally better. It was a Saturday night and they seemed busy.
Food was great!
Great food ! Over priced for the portions you get.
You had prime rib for your special that night and you were already out of it by the time we got there for our 6:00 reservations. The waitress told us they only made 2 roasts of prime rib and that a lot of people ordered it. If you are going to have it for your special I would think you would assume that a few people are going to order it and it should last past 6:00. My wife and I were pretty disappointed as that is one of our favorite meals at your restaurant.
We met friends at the Lake Elmo Inn for a Saturday lunch. The food excellent. The service was good. We left around 3pm and did not feel rushed to have to leave.
Saturday morning breakfast buffet was very good. Service very attentive.
Service was very slow; we thought that our server seemed over-tasked. Food and ambiance very nice.
The server was not as attentive as usual - she seemed distracted and in a rush. The food was marvelous and beautiful to look at. There’s nothing like a wonderful lunch with some of our treasured friends !
This was one of the very best buffets I have ever been to. The service was exceptional. Our daughter was having her birthday and they made her feel very special. I will be going again to check out their dinner menu as well.
Sunday Brunch was outstanding with many choices of cold (including shrimp cocktail), hot entrees and boatloads of dessert! Buffet was replenished efficiently, was organized and clean, and food was presented beautifully. Highly recommended!!
The other 3 in my group had not been to the Lake Elmo Inn. They were so glad that I chose the Inn. The food and service were wonderful. I am sure we will be there again.
Always an excellent experience. Great food in a relaxed atmosphere. Worth the drive from anywhere in the metro. Consistently good every time we've been here.
We had an excellent meal and great service for an anniversary celebration. The food was delightful. The drinks were wonderful. Our waitress added to the evening with just the right amount of attention and inquisitiveness. I will be back and will recommend The Lake Elmo Inn to others. In fact, I already have.
The Lake Elmo Inn was a wonderful evening. The hospitality was terrific. They were thoughtful and kind. The food was very good. We had a great evening. We readily recommend the Lake Elmo Inn to anyone looking for an enjoyable evening with friends.
Excellent service and great food as always. Lake Elmo Inn never disappoints us.
