Lake Elmo Inn
The Lake Elmo Inn has been chosen as one of the top 100 Brunches in the nation by Open Table. From shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon, double smoked ham, and carved rounds of beef, to eggs Benedict, Belgium waffles, mouthwatering salads, and fresh seasonal fruit, the Lake Elmo Inn serves a Sunday Brunch that is artfully prepared and elegantly presented.
I had the lobster bisque which was very salty. Over the past 5-10 years, most restaurants we visit have decreased the salt in their dishes, for health reasons. I was surprised that his soup was so salty. The roast duckling was overcooked in my opinion. Everything else was wonderful. My husband's meal was also very good.
Our server was very friendly as always! Very consistent food....great!
As always, the food was great. We were there to listen to Prairie Anthem play on the patio as well as for dinner. The music was great, not too loud, and just right for the room.
The service was excellent! The lobster and steak were way above my expectations. We went for our anniversary and were greeted with well wishes and champagne. Thank you Lake Elmo Inn for making our dinner memorable.
Service is excellent and the food outstanding! We are there almost weekly.
Fantastic! Great morning date experience. Delicious and great service.
Went there for anniversary. Free champagne toast, great food and Nancy, Thanks for the great service!
Service and food were excellent!
55th Wedding Anniversary of our friends’!! Delicious food, great atmosphere, over the top service!!!! We will be back!
We went to the Lake Elmo Inn to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. There were four of us. We had a delightful time. Sara Joy served us beautifully. I always get the Sunnies and my brother did too. My husband had the prime rib and my sister-in-law, the salmon salad. We all loved our food and were encouraged to stay and visit as long as we liked.
I love the Lake Elmo Inn.
Food was excellent as always. Service was a little slow, probably due to an unexpectedly large crowd.
Lake Elmo Inn's Tuesday lunch buffet was great, delicious food choices and a great atmosphere!
Best brunch ever. Consistently great food and everything was delicious. Many choices from cold to hot from breakfast to dinner items and desserts galore! Make a reservation and enjoy the best food anywhere served with champagne!
Long wait = barely warm $40 steak. Didn’t want to wait any longer, so I opted not to send it back. I may not go back either. Very sad because we went for a birthday celebration.
The Lake Elmo Inn did not disappoint. The food and service were excellent and the attention to every detail of the dining experience was exceptional. The fish is excellent as was the mashed sweet potatoes. A shout out to Maureen (Mo) for her attentiveness and genuineness. We will definitely go back in the near future. One of the best dining experiences in recent years. The only downside of the dining experience was a family with young children that included the father and child playing a video game on a cell phone with sound that was too loud. This type of activity doesn’t belong at a fine dining experience since it disturbs other patrons.
I found it to be overpriced. The service was spotty- asked 20 times for water refills, but thought we’d need to wrestle someone to get our coveted basket of dinner rolls. They also need to start refreshing decor.
Food was good, service excellent!
Our server Judy was a fine experienced professional yet warm and accomodating--you are lucky to have her. The food was perfect as always: very tender roast duck for my wife, rare prime rib for me even though it was the end of the Thursdsy hours! Her help in selecting the wine (at my request) was quite useful. We appreciated the manager (he didn't say but I assume that is who it was) checking with us to be sure we enjoyed our time there. Everyone's taste differs--I thought the Paso Robles Petit Sirah was just right; my wife thought it too fruity and almost-sweet for the beef. We also both thought her peppercorn sauce was too bland--little evidence of pepper in the white sauce--but substituting the cherry sauce worked well.
I also suspect the beef gets a dry rub of a very salty mixture such that the crust is too salty (but then I am a crotchety 71 year-old former cook and food columnist) but then the au jus was just fine and helped cancel that. We'll be back---so glad you still have sunnies on the menu but on Thursday I couldn't resist the prime rib. Thanks, Scott Bartell 612-669-3264
Food was excellent...service was great too! It takes a little while to get your food, but it was worth it when it came. Server was attentive and came to our table several times before our food came. Very nice and quiet. Great Ambience.
We celebrated our anniversary again there year at Lake Elmo !nn and it was so nice as usual. The wait staff are so friendly and we were given a complimentary glass of champagne and learned of the many specials all week long.
The halibut was a little dry and the side of augratin potatoes was warm not hot.
A large family gathering with a baby and 4 children 5 and under made the noise and activity level higher than one would expect there.
Our waiter, Bob, was superb. The NA cocktail was wonderful.
We were celebrating our 56th anniversary there ,as we have done for about 40 years. We were going there when it was Bens grill. We will continue going there as long as we can.
What a great place for special occasions.
Terry and Connie
Service here is always excellent. They go above and beyond to try and meet your needs.
The only reason I didn’t give the food five stars is that I always order the butternut squash ravioli and it’s drenched in too much butter and I believe, parsley or some other herb on top. It doesn’t look appetizing and is a tad greasy.
Other than that, I always enjoy my time here.
33rd wedding anniversary! Wonderful food and service!
Great atmosphere! Refined, yet very cozy and welcoming. Nice touches with cleansing towels prior & sorbet to cleanse your palate.
Will definitely visit again to try the Happy Hour at the classy little bar.
Great anniversary dinner!
Enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Lake Elmo Inn. The food was wonderful. The service was excellent. That's why it's our favorite place.
Went to celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary. Were surprised to discover it was also 25% off seniors day.
if we had gotten our usual great service, I'd say yes. Tonight, no. Service was horrible. In June, we celebrated our anniversary. The hostess greeted us with a congratulation and we received a glass of champaign. Tonight , we celebrated my wife's birthday. No mention of the birthday, no champaign. We were seated at a small table in a back room. We had to ask for water twice. We moved excess glassware, didn't have wine, to another table to clear space. Empty dishes piled up so when entree arrived no room. WE have been customers for years, celebrating special occasions. Maybe time to find a new go to spot.
Amazing variety. Everything in this brunch was brought out in small batches to keep it fresh and delicious.
It was a very enjoyable experience overall
No waiting for reservation
Very friendly staff and great food
Celebrated an Engagement...wonderful evening! Thank you Lisa & Curtis!
Excellent as usual
We took some friends (from FL) to the Lake Elmo Inn and everything was outstanding!
We were celebrating our anniversary and we got a complimentary glass of champagne to toast it. Food excellent and staff fantastic.
The food was wonderful. My wife had the Sunniest and I had the chicken Pesto. So amazing, nothing was left to take home.
It is always a special treat for us to dine at the Lake Elmo Inn. The food is fantastic, the service superior, and the ambiance lovely.
Dinner was great. My husband and I especially like the wild rice soup and the walleye is always good. There is a huge dessert selection and we generally choose one to share.
Great for a social occasion. Would recommend. Pork chop was melt in your mouth. Sunnies were fantastic.
I had the scallop special and only received 3 somewhat small scallops for $33 - way overpriced.
