service was good, even though restaurant was very crowded. Food was very good, could be served a little warmer. Not really hot
Terrific service and tastefully and beautifully prepared and presented food.
We celebrated birthdays in coming to Lake Elmo Inn! Our waitress, Vicki, was absolutely wonderful and made our time there so much fun!! The food was fabulous and the birthday cake that I ordered was the BEST!! Highly recommend for special occasions!
We always enjoy eating here. This time we both had lobster ravioli. It is served with a 4 oz. lobster tail and is very, very delicious.
As usual most of the food was outstanding. Only issue was the roast beef which was somewhat stringy and tough. Used to be my favorite thing on the buffet but the last half year it has unfortunately been sub-par. Think our waiter was new and not super attentive but perhaps we are spoiled by the many ladies who have been there for years and give stellar service. Overall it is a beautiful layout. Just sorry to see them cut corners with one of the main entrees.
Sunday brunch ok not a lot of options For the money
We went to Lake Elmo Inn on a recommendation from a friend and it lived up to the expectation. We wanted a great Sunday Brunch to celebrate a birthday with friends and we got exactly what we wanted - great food, comfortable atmosphere and attentive and friendly services.
Sunday brunch. Good food selection and all of it was excellent.
Enjoyed an excellent meal and evening at Lake Elmo Inn. The service was excellent, ambiance very pleasant and comfortable, and the food was very good - excellent. I had the butternut squash ravioli, which was very good. My dinner mates had the halibut special and the walleye. All were rated excellent. The french onion, lobster bisque and clam chowder soups were all hot and tasty. The Caesar salads were very good. Our waitress and bus boy were attentive and accommodating. Will certainly go again.
Excellent in all aspects of the evening. It is still a traditional fine dining experience with the ambience that you expect. The staff is well trained and the food is exceptional. We were not pushed to order and had plenty of time to enjoy our wine and the little cream cones to cleanse our pallat.
The chocolate covered strawberries at the end of the meal were a added touch to the meal also. Very much appreciated.
Exceptional service; friendly; old school but really great.
This was our first time there together. The food was very good and the servce was just as great. A little pricey, but you could cut the steak with a fork. Will definitely be making a trip back.
Great food. Great service. Wonderful place to celebrate a birthday. Champagne and dessert was also fabulous !
So thankful for the excellent, patient staff who waited for us to work through a family crisis and then seated us half an hour after our reservation. I love this restaurant! Never have had a bad experience. Food is always outstanding!
Spectacular food and service. Great place to visit on special occasions.
Everything was excellent! Attentive server and delicious food. I would highly recommend for special occasions.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening! Started w/excellant crafted cocktails, appetizers of Stuffed Mushrooms & Sunnys (both delicious!), and all 4 of us opted for the Chef's Tasting Menu -a wonderful German meal. We love Elmo Inn, usually go every 3 weeks or so! You won't be disappointed!
This is always a nice restaurant. Cozy, great service, the food very well prepared, the restaurant is always clean and in great shape. At Christmas it's even more cozy with it's decorations.
I think our server may have forgotten about us, twice. We were in on a Thursday night for dinner so the restaurant was not packed but server was very slow in getting our drinks and bringing the soup after we ordered.
None the less our meals certainly made up for it as they were delicious! I had the chicken montamore with a baked potato and asparagus and my husband enjoyed the Whole Hog for multiple days. His came with a baked potato and green beans. The French onion soup and wild rice soup were both delicious as well. Plenty of food, nicely presented with great flavor. We’d highly recommend and do look forward to going back.
This is the third time we have returned to Lake Elmo Inn. The ambiance, food, wine, service and presentation of food is lovely. We find the palate cleanser and scented towels wonderful! We will definitely return!!!
Nice wine selection, friendly servers and quiet atmosphere, but menu is uninspired and entrees overpriced.
Great as usual! Buffet was tasty w selections for salad and dessert.
We love Lake Elmo Inn and often visit for special occasions. The food and service are second to none in the Twin Cities.
Very expensive for what you get. Menu is also limiting.
I have been here before and it was good. But this time was bad. 8 resveration. Didn’t sit till 8:15 didn’t get or meal until 9:15 and mine was cold, hers was full of salt and really bad. Left hungry and disappointed. Manger comped our meals but still had to pay for some of it. Not Happy about that. Not sure if I will be back. Lots of others choices around.
Good food. Haven't had anything bad.
It doesn't matter if they're slow or busy, service is always painfully slow.
Lake Elmo Inn is our favorite 'best food' restaurant and we always go for our wedding anniversary and birthday plus many, many Tuesday buffets. Service is great, food is DELICIOUS & we recommend Lake
Elmo Inn to many friends !!!
Lake Elmo Inn is superb! We are lucky to live nearby. Food and service was wonderful.
We have been here many times before and never disappointed. We had an inexperienced and unprofessional waitress compared to the veterans we have had before. Also, the green beans were not cooked long enough and I like beans al dente. The broiled shrimp was tasty but it had an oily sheen. We were also originally seated in the new north room but with a direct eye shot to the kitchen door. They were accommodating in our request to move. We will try again because this is the first time we have been disappointed after many visits.
Great food and lovely atmosphere! Great spot for celebrations!
Outstanding!! Even ordered items that weren't on the menu. Great service, wonderful food!
Fixed three-course menu was excellent in addition to their Prime Rib. Desserts are always a highlight here!
Steak was good. Duck was too dry and the sauce was mediocre.
Everything was outstanding! The food was fabulous and the service could not have been better!
Exceptional food choices and beautifully presented on our plates. The food is out of this world. John and his staff do a fabulous job.
My sister, husband and I had a very nice time at the Tuesday buffet. The food was delicous. Fruit was fresh and tasty, desserts were devine and the two main entrees were very good. Potatoes, gravy and green
beans were also very good. My sister will be in town from Napa Valley so the other sisters and I will be there for the buffet on October 30th. We all know we will have a great time and enjoy the delicious food. Thank you.
Always a treat to go to the Elmo Inn. The Tuesday buffet was oh so good - German food which I adore. The desserts are to die for too as well as the salads. Impossible to leave hungry!
One of our favorites on the east side of St. Paul. The food and decor are top notch.
We met some friends and requested a quiet area in the restaurant, which we had. The food and service from our waitress was very good. Our only complaint was that the busboy was so intent in clearing our table that he barely waited for us to finish the food on our plates before swooping in and grabbing them. In fact at one point one of us was still eating and the busboy was reaching over him to grab an empty plate. We felt as if we were being rushed out of the restaurant.
I'm willing to go back and give them another try, but if that occurs again, I would never go back as it is incredibly rude to make customers feel as if they cannot relax and enjoy a fine meal.
This is the best restaurant in town, love the downtown Lake Elmo setting! The quality of the food is unbelievable, this is so superior to Jax Cafe on University in Mpls.
