Tables were really close together but that’s the only thing I can say I didn’t like. Everything else gets 5 stars!!
Rhee of us each had a different entree’ and we all liked what we ordered
Wonderful service by friendly reception and staff and excellent food
We were celebrating our friend’s 80th Birthday. My food was excellent. We enjoyed our champagne.
The service was attentive and excellent.
Was glad to see a chicken stirfry back on the menu!! It was a bit different from the original, but was good. I loved the original chicken stirfry hope it comes back on the manual. Love the small sized desserts also
Honestly, we pretty much didn’t like the food. It’s got high end pricing and descriptions but flavor, seasoning and execution just wasn’t there. For example beef appetizer consisted of 4 unseasoned tenderloin bites cooked med well ordered med rate for $17. I never salt anything but salted and peppered my second bite. $100 tab for 2 with no alcohol was disappointing. I had wanted to treat my friend to a nicer meal, alas. Will go elsewhere.
We eat here often usually on special occasions ie. Birthday's, anniversaries, out of town guests etc. The service is always good and the food is also quite good. It's a good place to visit as it is not too noisy. They bring a palette cleaner of sorbet and warm wash cloth. These are nice touches. The bar is a fun place for a drink.
Terrific food and service and the ambiance was terrific! A great place to get together with friends and family to enjoy conversation and a great food and drinks.
We had a lovely anniversary lunch. The complimentary champagne was a very nice gesture. Our server Shirley was friendly, professional, efficient and best of all very
Wonderful food and great wine selections. Smaller sized entrees would have been good - too much food for us!
Waitress was very helpful and pleasant.
Totally please at the employees professionalism. Everyone was so polite and they actally meant it! We will be back for dinner. Hope to have our 50th wedding anniversary in the glass room up front in January of 2021. Will call you for availability and seating capacity. Thank you!!
Having the Lake Elmo Inn so close to our home is the best. I love their food whether for lunch or dinner, or their special breakfasts special months of the year or the Sunday Brunch. The food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. The presentation is always perfect. The staff, from the valet, waitstaff, bartender and chefs are friendly and outgoing. They all greet you with smiles and hellos. It's a place you will want to go again and again. The lunch menu has great selections and are affordable. They have a nice wine list and there is a full bar for mixed drinks. Tuesday they have a lunch buffet which always has a special meat entree and vegetables, starches (potatoes), breads/rolls (wonderful), salads (fantastic), and numerous desserts that are too die for. The holidays are fun times to visit because they are master decorators with the most impressive collection of ornaments for any holiday. As you enter, you will definitely notice their displays of their massive salt and pepper shaker collection. The atmosphere is always festive even when it's not a holiday. You are not only full when you leave, you are happy.
The staff was very accommodating, as I made a last minute reservation for 9 pm. I hadn’t realized that people typically are out of there by that time at the restaurant. The food was still great and the service warm. Next time I will make sure to eat first and take in a movie after.
Birthday evening, very enjoyable.
Tournedoes Bearnaise: filet mignon was excellent, shrimp was tough and tasteless, asparagus was good, gold Yukon & red potato medley was great
Filet mignon: steak was excellent, asparagus was good, gold Yukon & red potato medley was great.
Service was just okay. Server seemed distracted. The turtle torte was good, and the chocolate covered strawberries as well.
The warm washcloth at the end was a nice touch.
Definitely worth a return trip.
JoLynn was our waitress and she took such an interest in our group of 6. 6 of us had the small cut of the Prime Rib, one the delicious pork chip (so tender), one salad, one sirloin steak. (Most of us ordered the parmesan potatoes and asparagus. The gal who was lucky enough to order the pork chop loved the special recipe of the wild rice. The Inn was decorated for Christmas with all the ornaments, garland and collections (Nutcrackers, Toy Soldiers, Snow Globes, etc) Such a quaint setting but a very large restaurant sectioned off into different rooms plus a solarium. And the desserts were to die for... We recommend the Sin of the Inn, but the Butterfinger Cheesecake was the BEST!!
The food is always excellent, great flavor. Wonderful desserts. We had fabulous service.
It was an amazing time taking my girlfriend on her birthday dinner. 10/10 would recommend
I understand sometimes there may be a wait. But to wait 45 minutes after a reserved time seems a bit long. The manager apologized and leave us updates which was nice, but a comped beverage would have been nice while we waited.
One of my potatoes had a center of black rot which should have been seen before plating. I have always had great meals presented well in the past. This one seemed rushed . The tres leches cake was delicious as always, and my steak was prepared correctly.
We go to the Lake Elmo Inn several times per year. Love the food and atmosphere. Our favorite spot for special occasions.
The food was excellent, the waiter friendly and my wife loved her birthday lunch.
The Lake Elmo Inn once again lived up to our expectations in every way. It’s our goto place for special occasions.
We had reservations for Tuesday Buffet. Marvelous as always !
I have raved about LEI for years and I can honestly say ' I have NEVER had a bad experience at your establishment'.
Very good Sunday brunch. Decided to be seated in the bar and instead of the restaurant. Excellent food excellent service. Highly recommend.
Expensive for $28 Champagne brunch for low quality food on buffet. And coffee or orange juice is extra.
Our server actually forgot about us - at one point commenting “oh, you’re still here!” No wonder our water and beverages weren’t refilled.
The ambiance is majical during the holidays but that’s not enough to make up for the lack of flavor, variety and quality food on the buffet.
Our brunch was the best. The decorations for Christmas were amazing and beautiful. Hope to return soon.
The food was delicious and moderately priced. Yes the price is on the high side, but I think the value is there due to the quality of the food. Our waitress was great. Normally my wife and I don’t go out but we had a gift card to this place, so we got a babysitter and headed out. I would definitely go there again without a gift card. I had the prime rib and it was succulent. Just make sure to get there before they run out because they’ll most likely run out.
We enjoyed our dinner at the Lake Elmo Inn. The food was excellent. I was a little disappointed in the G/F offerings for desserts: I am unable to eat anything on the dessert tray. The G/F offerings for starter salads and entrees are quite good
Absolutely Fabulous. Great atmosphere, food, service, ambiance incredible amount of nutcrackers in every size, lights could talk without being drowned out. Perfect evening!
Will come back often!
Awesome dinner and first for my son and expecting bride. Celebrated my 65th Birthday at our favorite place.
Everything was ok- very busy due to it being the first seafood night of the year. Quite disappointed when we received the bill with a 3% surcharge fee. At first we thought it was a 3% fee for using our debit card but then it was explained to us as being a charge to give the non tipped employees an incentive. I guess I have a hard time with that and would have liked to have known about it instead of it just showing up on the bill. A $183 bill for two people and cash tipping the server, table helper and the host should have been sufficient. I feel it is the restaurants responsibility to take care of their own operating expenses!! Probably won’t patronize establishments with this fee!! Been going here for years just disappointed!
It was a lovely evening! Your holiday decorations are beautiful! See you again soon.
Great food and service.
Lake Elmo Inn is very nice for special occasions if only they would enforce a dress code. It is disheartening to dress up for a special occasion only to be seated next to people wearing jeans, sweatshirts and baseball caps. It is getting more and more difficult to find elegant places to celebrate. Besides that, the food and service could not have been better.
Becky, our waitress, is outstanding. You need to clone her.
New Year's brunch was remarkable. Relaxed, Friendly service. Very lovely seasonal decorations.
The smoked salmon was excellent. Nice assortment of salads and desserts.
My husband and I have enjoyed, our Meal every time we come! The service and friendliness and Food are over the time! Thank you! For making it Special, at Lake Elmo Inn!
New Year’s Eve
I realize it was New Year’s Eve, but with an 8:00p.m reservation, we left at 10:00pm...
The wait staff worked very hard to keep up, it might have been kitchen overload...
We were seated and waited about 20minutes to get the roll basket...another 20or so to get the salads and the entree finally came and the waitress recognized our wait. We did have dessert so a couple hours probably doesn’t sound unusual...the baked potato and vegetables were a little underdone but I didn’t complain or want to send it back to wait longer. The dessert rum banana pie was the best part of the meal for me!
Celebrated an Anniversary, 60th BDay, Christmas, and New Year's Eve at Elmo Inn - an awesome time!!! Craft Cocktails were perfect, food was -as always- delicious, and Service is exceptional. Got to attend John's Barrel Cracking at 11am Dec 31st (our New Year's Eve celebration) - and his Brandy concoction was so smooth...such a treat. Thank You Elmo Inn for a wonderful time!
There was a hair in my food. The vegetables. Wasn’t impressed. You would think they would wear hairnets. Won’t be back.
