While the soup and torte were very good, the beef teriyaki and Reuben was just okay. The seafood stack was very disappointing compared to that at the Chianti Grill, much smaller, with fewer ingredients. The tea selection was small. Worst of all, the restaurant was very cold. I had planned to have a salad and phony Negroni but they would have been too cold to enjoy.

My friend and I had lunch together and were seated in a nice quiet booth that allowed us to catch up on our lives after almost 9 months since we had seen each other. I ordered the Sunnies with wild rice which was excellent! My friend ordered the shrimp salad stack and said it was also delicious!

My wife and I went to the lake Elmo inn for our Friday date night, and got the catch and the cut special that is served on Friday nights. It was Absolutely amazing. Starting with a fresh berry salad and cranberry rolls, we were left in shock that a salad could taste so good! The main course followed with our filet mignons served Oscar style (steaks cooked perfectly medium rare) lobster tail that was seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of butter, and two massive crispy fried tiger shrimp. Paired with the most mouth watering shucked corn and mushroom/spinach risotto. Over all I would give the food a 15/10 and the service is just as amazing as the food. If you are planning a special occasion or just a very nice date night in the area I wouldn’t go anywhere else but the lake Elmo inn.

We had a nice brunch at Lake Elmo Inn, our first visit since before Covid since they’ve stopped the buffet. We had excellent service and the presentation of the food was beautiful. I would say the food overall was good, but nothing was amazing. I had the walleye and it was cooked well but didn’t have any special seasoning or flavor to it. The cheesy potatoes served with my avocado toast were very salty, and the toast itself was soggy. The salad was tasty, and the poached egg was perfectly cooked. The green beans and carrot side was delicious. The desserts were OK but tasted bland.

Lake Elmo In used to be a place you went to celebrate big events. That feeling of a special occasion is gone. Went there to celebrate my friend’s 60th birthday and was very disappointed. In spite of me both including this event on my reservation but also mentioned when I confirmed. Not only do they not do anything special for birthdays, they didn’t even mention it to her. No candle in the dessert we purchased, no birthday dessert, no Happy Birthday. They also used to make you feel special by the service. No more. No chocolate covered strawberries as mentioned in menu. Food was average but expensive. I can’t recommend it. Plenty of other places I can spend $95 for dinner.

Sunday Brunch is excellent! I love their Sunday Brunch. They start with delicious caramel rolls and Brut Champagne (unlimited champagne). Then you order one each from appetizers, breakfast, entree. I had three huge cocktail shrimp. Served over ice with sauce. Husband (who was celebrating his birthday) ordered a mandarin orange/romaine salad with nuts and dried cranberries. For breakfast we each ordered eggs benedict. It was half of what you get for breakfast in other restaurants -- a single, perfectly poached egg; hollandaise was great, and I am fussy. It came with a small side of roasted potatoes and peppers/onions and a small bowl of fresh fruit. They also delivered a plate of croissants and scones. Main course options were salmon, shrimp pasta, Swedish meatballs, a 4 oz. filet with mushroom risotto, grilled pork chop and a chicken dish. We both had the filet and mushroom risotto and were very happy with our choice. For dinner, you get three small 3-bite desserts. All three were memorable, especially the chocolate creme brulee. Service was impeccable. They refilled our champagne and water without us having to ask. Brought clean silverware between courses. Wished my husband happy birthday numerous times and again on our way out. $45/person and we had enough leftover for dinner in the evening. Wonderful value. Great food. Beautiful restaurant. Perfect service. The menu changes every week and is posted on their website for the whole month ahead. We can't wait to go back!
