We came for our 15th wedding anniversary celebration. We also had our wedding at the same hotel 15 years ago. Food is still delicious and service is amazing. My son usually don’t like eating crabs, mainly because it is messy. The crab dish that we ordered today was so good that he dug in with both hands and could not stop eating. His action speaks to the food quality. Was a great evening.

My son and daughter-in-law (and their baby) had just had a quiet midday wedding ceremony at City Hall and we chose to celebrate quietly at Lai Wah Heen. We were not disappointed.
They had given us a table in the window as we had requested and we told the maitre d' as he sat us that we only wanted Peking (Beijing) Duck for four and a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne. He apologized that the restaurant was out of VC (as are most restaurants and LCBO stores at this time) and said the best he could do was to serve us with two small bottles of Moet & Chandon, the last two bottles the restaurant had. Good call.
The duck was presented, cut and served beautifully in both the rice-crepe and Crystal Fold (lettuce-wrap) courses. It was delicious.
We finished with deep-fried sesame balls stuffed with pickled ginger and lotus seed paste. Just right.
It had been years since I had been to Lai Wah Heen. I was impressed by their standard of cooking and of service. I'll be going back soon.

Lovely place, food was good. Probably advise you to go with the preset menu, we did la carte this time and it didn't quite have the same effect.

We had the tasting special with multiple courses; unfortunately the experience was less than memorable as there were too many plates that came out at the start - so by the time, we came to enjoy them were already cold.
Dim sum is not to be eaten cold and this has been incredibly disappointing.
I have wanted to bring my friend here for a very long time - yesterday was our first opportunity since the reopening and it was not the memory I had hoped for.

One of the best restaurants in Toronto! I always enjoy my experience here. The dishes are creative and high quality, and the service is gracious and attentive. Great place to go for special events. The dining room is spacious and elegant, so you can have a semi-private dining experience. Highly recommended.

If you’re looking for a traditional yet elevated dimsum experience, you have found the right place! Everything about LWH is a few steps above the norm, from the ambience and quality of service to the complexity and quality ingredients.

By a long mile, this is the best service we have ever received from a dimsum restaurant. We enjoyed the flavour profile and refined approach to traditional dishes, which completed the experience for us.

If you’re in the area, definitely don’t miss out!

I used to live in hong kong, every time i am in Toronto i make sure to have time for a meal at LWH because this is the closest i have found in Canada. Extensive menu, all the classics superbly executed with amazing consistency. Don’t let the DoubleTree’s lobby put you off, cross the restaurant’s threshold and you are in an elegant, upscale, quiet setting. One of the best worldwide.

The high quality food and service is what distinguishes this restaurant from the others. Had a special birthday dinner and all our guests some of whom were first timers, and they just loved the food, especially the Peking Duck, pomelo jumbo shrimp, and the amazingly fresh lobster with vermicelli dish. Great value for the quality. Will definitely be back.

Suggest the restaurants to ask health screening questions at the time of entry to the dining room via an App or actual response at the door.

The ambience was perfect for a business lunch.
The stuff were attentive and courteous and kept the tea pot full frequently.
Good variety of vegetarian food.
Had the usual shrimp dumpling, spring rolls, sticky rice warp. We also ordered the rice roll with assorted mushrooms which were a bit hard to the bite. Otherwise all dim sum we had were excellent.
Did not see any coat rack or coat checking facility. Bring heavy winner coats into the such a restaurant and hanging over the back of the chairs is quiet unsightly.

Been to Lai Wah Heen a few times over the years. Took a relative who has lived in Shanghai for many years and loves dim sum.

This visit did not stand out as one of the best.
Most dishes arrived at the same time and were not as piping hot as we remember them to be in the past.
For a Saturday lunch the restaurant was not nearly as busy as we have experienced in the past. Sadly the coronavurus must take the blame for that.

High end Chinese & fusion menu, fantastic light flavours! Service as always efficient but not in your face. If you want to taste Cantonese specialties but also like foiegras and truffles, you’re at the right place ! Highly recommended!
