Lago East Bank Ratings and Reviews
Went for restaurant week. Tried each entree, appetizer, and dessert. It wasn’t very flavorful, although the portions were good sized and we did all love the famous meatballs! The drinks were a bit over priced. We enjoyed the live music and the service was good. But we probably won’t be back.
Our server was excellent. She was very attentive, courteous, friendly and polite. She always had a smile.
I had the gluten free spaghetti with chorizo and mussels. This was my favorite among the dishes that were served for the night. The taste was excellent but I needed some bread to neutralize the oil in the pasta.
My brother-in-law had the beef short ribs. Tasted good as well but the meat had some fatty portions.
We also ordered the apple pannacotta, chocolate lava cake, and tiramisu. Dessert just tasted ok but texture was alright.
We sat on a booth. The space is for small to medium built people. If you are a heavy set person, sit on the table areas instead as the booths will feel tight.
The place was perfect for our anniversary dinner. The food was great and the service was the crown of the evening. For our first visit, they took the time to explain their menu and all of the combinations that we could pick from.
A special night before a next day wedding. My son and his girlfriend flew in from NYC and my daughter and her boyfriend finally had night's off. As a mom I wanted the evening to be special to finally be together as a family. The sitting was just perfect. Our table of six was right by the patio doors which allowed us to few the skyline. The food was delish and service outstanding. Thank you for making our evening dining wonderful.
I want to first start off by saying that I had an amazing experience @ Lago a couple of months ago but this time they really missed the mark. Granted my visit was after a Browns game but I wasn't expecting a complete 180 from what I previously experienced. My server and the wait staff seemed completely disenchanted. There was no introduction of hi I'm blank, have you dined with us before, or even just asking if we'd went to the game. It also took her almost 10 minutes to arrive to are real to take our deink order. To clarify, the patio and bar were busy but we were literally the only 2 patrons in the restaurant. I ordered sparkling water and it was deliver with a single lime and the bottle was like warm. She puzzles by the fact that I would need a glass to drink it. She returned 5 minutes later with a glass and no ice... again it was a game day and I had no idea how long she'd been working so I didn't make it an issue. The appetizer was a cauliflower dish that was dreadful. It had 0 flavor and was drenched in an oil that made it almost inedible. The saving grace was the bread. They really do have incredible bread. When the entrees came out I was hoping for a pleasant surprise. I ordered salmon, potatoes, and asparagus. The potatos were great but honestly anyone can cook a good patoato. The asparagus was very forgetful. Instead of giving you some nice stalks they serve it cut up into little sections. For the price it was pretty lame. The salmon dish was $32 and honestly I've had better at Outback. I was starving and I ate the entire meal but it was not worth $137.... not on any planet would I pay that kind of money for an Applebee's level meal.
2 months ago I had Lago ranked amoungst the best in Cleveland and have told others to try it. I will give it one more try but at theor current price point, you're better off spending the evening with Michael Simon @ Lola.
We had to pay 15.00 to valet verses 10.00 when we went to another restaurant in the flats last weekend. Very pricey restaurant. My beef tortolini was fabulous however my husband ordered the meatballs with pasta, which is available, but not on the menu. The pasta was wheat and was not the best, it was very chewy. Wine is very expensive also so be prepared. I believe the cheapest bottle was 60.00. The last negative comment I have is that the doors were open and everyone was swatting gnats away from their meals. I ended up with one in my wine. Was not a good experience.
As usual the food was great and the service amazing! My friend from out of town was here on business and loved her meal. She does not get good Italian in Dallas and loved being able to get great food. Our server was wonderful and it was a Tuesday so half off bottles of wine...well worth it!
The food was fabulous. Our waiter was pleasant, patient and very informative. We did not mind the prices because the drinks, appetizers, salads and entrees were worth it. Can't wait to go back. Only bad comment - $15.00 to valet park. Got to do what you got to do.
Came here for Sunday brunch and had the chicken and waffles. My meal was great and the atmosphere was super fun. They had a dj playing outside on the patio during brunch and bottomless mimosas. It's a really fun spot for brunch with friends, our waitress was a little slow but she was also bartending which is understandable. I would highly recommend sitting on the patio and having brunch at Lago!
After we were seated no one came to take our order until I inquired 25" later. They did apologize and redeemed themselves by comping us 2 orders of meatballs which were very good. The food was good, particularly the red snapper and pizzas. It was difficult to have a conversation because of the noise level but it was a busy Saturday night both inside and outside.
Calamari rubbery but swimming in a tomato wine reduction so savory and rich soaked into warm bread that I would order it again. Scallops appetizer tender, flavorful with a thick sear served on a bed of polenta with pesto- exquisite . Short ribs tender , delicious but served with rough chopped fresh broccoli and carrots which were barely cooked through, scattered on the plate. Creative cocktail concoctions, wine list with nearly every offering available by the glass. Overall good, but not stellar. Would give it another go.
