The food here is always great ! The service from all employees is better than any resteraunt on the Island ! Only problem when I go here is choosing what to eat because of the selection of specials are amazing .
We enjoy sitting at the bar-great martinis and excellent service. The eggplant app and the four cheese pizza are our faves! :)
Very comfortable setting. Real Sicilian cooking, the only place my husband can get his pasta with sardines, breadcrumbs, etc. besides home. Disappointed in the calamari appetizer, rubbery. I had the Shrimp dish, very good, lots of garlic. Tomato sauce is excellent!!
Been here a few times in the past, but never on a Sat. Night. I will make a note in the future to ask for the room behind the bar, which I will assume is a little quieter. The wait and bar staff were excellent. The food was good. As I cannot eat pasta, (picked the Restaurant because my guests like Italian food), I went with the Filet Mignon. I have to remember the next time to ask to go lighter on the sauce or leave it off altogether.
Enjoyed a wonderful lunch at this amazing restaurant. Certainly has that Tuscan charm. Food layered with flavors and well portioned. Service staff knowledgeable, professional and just the right amount of attentiveness. I have recommended already and will definitely return!
One of our personal favorite local spots. Great food nice bar upfront of the restaurant . Terrific pizza !!!
Great food! Great variety! Excellent bar! There is always a family member ready to greet you and help. Love the place!
Our favorite restaurant! Best on Long Island! Great food, great service, great drinks. Food is very fresh. Can't wait to return! A must to experience you won't be disappointed!
My husband and I had a wonderful dinner. Our waiter was excellent and extremely accommodating. Dinner was delicious. If you like salmon you have to try their salmon medallions stuffed with crab meat drizzled with a light lobster sauce. Yummy. I love their salads, so fresh. My husband loves chicken parmigiana which isn't on the menu but they make it for him. So enjoyed a glass of wine from the Tuscany region which my waiter recommended. Looking forward to trying other dishes as this has now become our favorite local ristorante.
I liked the delicate balance of the artichokes and arugula app. I wasn't too pleased with my pasta fasoul soup, the broth was very good but far too many beans. I don't recall the waiter stopping to ask how we were doing. My nephews enjoyed their pastas( one was eggplant and the other a seafood ravioli). My hubby thought his dish a spicy seafood was just okay. Happily my brother likes almost everything. We shared the pear ricotta pie and 3 out of 4 believed it too sweet.
We have been to La Volpe for two of my birthdays and once with our daughter and family. We went last night for my husband's Birthday.
As always the food is excellent and the service is great! We highly recommend this restaurant!
I've dined at La Volpe many times and every experience has been a pleasure. The staff is trained well, the daily specials they offer sound delicious. My favorite appetizer is the grilled artichokes, I enjoy them so much I've ordered a double portion and eaten them for dinner as well.
On this recent visit, I was with a friend who had never been to La Volpe, he loves fish so I recommended the crusted flounder and he was in heaven. I had the Halibut with bok choy which was light and savory.
The Toasted Almond Tiramisu was...need I say more!
We had dinner on Fathers day. Arrived around 3:00 PM and were seated in the empty restaurant. We had a bottle of Amarone, which was the best thing about the day. I had the ravioli special, my husband had the chicken special and my father had the flounder. The chicken was food service. Perfectly round and exactly the same. Not very good. My ravioli had almost no filling, and was in a tomato cream sauce that was orange! The flounder was the best of the meals. Really, how can you ruin fresh fish? We have been here before, but probably will not return. $230.00 for so - so food is not something you want to do often. Too bad, because there are not many restaurants in the area.
We have always had a great meal here. It is one of our favorite restaurants in our area. I would highly recommend
Our main attraction to La Volpes is of course the food. The menu is consistently good, and the specials usually offer excellent choices as well. The atmosphere and ambiance iis relaxing. Each time we have gone there the restaurant has been busy, outside of a bit more noise, the hustle and bustle of the restaurant workers does not seem to affect the enjoyment of the experience.
We would recommend La Volpe's Ristorante to anyone who enjoys good food and service at a moderate price.
The owners make you feel like family, not to mention the food which is always excellent. They are creative with new specials and creating new cocktails. The wine list is superb.
My dinner, veal, was very salty and the ingredient of an Italian salami was undercooked bacon.
My husband's chicken was a tad dry and heavily fried.
One of our local favorites good food great service
Late evening on Mother's Day may not, in general, to be the best time to eat out but this was certainly nit the case when five of us plus a young child ate at La Volpe.
The welcoming service, the drinks, the food were impeccable and made for a wonderful evening.
This restaurant is so consistent in serving high quality Italian food at very reasonable prices.
Best Italian restaurant on the Island. Authentic Italian cuisine. Homemade fresh food daily by the fabulous Volpe Brothers! Very attentive to our particular needs.
