Wonderful to be able to enjoy restaurants again, and it was a treat at La Voile! The manager was lovely and attentive. Our food was delicious, and the portions from the three-course menu were just right. We will be back!
The food is consistently good. Unfortunately, they were very short staffed, so the service wasn't its usual stellar style, but they were apologetic and did the best they could. I will always go back, as it's one of my favorite restaurants.
My delicious salmon had a super crispy sear on it and the tarragon spinach it was on was mouth watering. If you like a clean & tasty white wine, they have a St Veran at a reasonable bottle price. Loved it.
One of our favorites in Brookline !!!!
Overall a great experience. The service and food were excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone who values great French cuisine.
Great service and great French dishes! Nice ambiance as well.
Lovely three course dinner for restaurant week - so often, it feels like restaurants no longer put any effort into those meals, but La Voile excelled with the lovely pea veloute, the cod and risotto and a delicious dessert.
the food was amazing ! the waiter was a little slow but I think there was a single waiter for the entire 2nd floor. also we asked for french bread to dip in the escaragot and they only had olive bread rolls ... other than that the food was amazing !
Loved it here! Very friendly staff. The food was amazing. We can’t wait to return for another wonderful experience.
Food was delicious and service was exceptional. Would definitely recommend and go back.
A staple of ours, just really nice French food with several of the classics.
Really great neighborhood restaurant
Loved their Duck Confit
lovely dinner and dining experience. we were there 2 hours without feeling either that were waiting nd not being attended to, or that we were rushed! i can't recall when i've last had such a beautifully timed and delicious dining experience! (we were there for the "dining out boston" evening, 3 course prix fixe meal.)
Great vibe, excellent service, proper French cuisine
We greatly enjoyed our recent and first dinner at La Voile Brookline. It was a brisk evening, and we sat alongside pedestrians who strolled along Beacon Street - less privacy, but nevertheless important to us to dine outside since we aren't yet vaccinated. The wait staff was very helpful, courteous, warm, and informative. Our lamb and beef meals were fantastic, one rib of lamb overcooked but everything else of the lamb and beef perfectly done. Our appetizers of risotto and brie plate were delicious. We would definitely enjoy returning for another romantic date!
Excellent service and food as always.
Great meal and great service.
Open table apparently doesn’t alert restaurants of either reservations or special notes/requests in advance. I made a birthday a dinner reservation here days in advance with a noted request for outdoor seating. Then one hour before my reservation they called me saying they couldn’t seat me outdoors. Because of covid I don’t sit indoors and I was completely left to make a last minute choice. It’s unclear if open table or the restaurant is more at fault for this but it’s a broken system regardless. Nobody should be called only one hour before their dinner to be told they can’t be accommodated for a reservation they made a week in advance. Open table MUST alert their restaurants of reservations as soon as they are processed to avoid these preventable situations that leave the guests very angry. The food was good. Our server gave us complimentary champagne at the end.
Amazing experience, will definitely be back plenty more times for the gem of a restaurant!
We celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday at La Voile - we hadn’t had an indoor restaurant experience in forever, and were lucky that it wasn’t very busy on a Tuesday night. We had an outstanding meal (La sole and le canard), with the special oyster appetizer. Everything was absolutely delicious! We didn’t get to try the cocktails since we had a bottle of champagne, but will be back to try those as well. Service was great too!
One of the most enjoyable dinners I've had in a while. The food was great, the waiter amazing, and the ambiance couldn't ask for more. Thank you for such a wonderful time with my date and I.
The dinner was amazing! The food was really good, and the service impeccable.
We went for the Valentine's day menu. The pea soup was delightful, the foie gras was okay, the lamb and duck breast were both good, although my boyfriend thinks the duck breast was underseasoned. The potatoes au gratin served with the lamb were a standout. The creme brulee was a standard, and the berry tart could have used a snappier crust, but was not bad. Service was impeccable. Everyone spoke French. Free bread was good, and had olives in it. Really nice nautical decor.
Very good and authentic French food. Great for a romantic diner.
Fantastic. Need to support them during the pandemic. Neighborhood gem.
Great table service and outstanding Dover Soul
Always reliably good French cuisine. Service was excellent.
Fantastic place, fabulous service. We had a great time. Good was really tasty.
This is one of our favorite restaurants, great food, amazing service and ambiance. They are also doing wonderful job with covid compliance.
This was the best dinner experience we have had in a while!! I highly recommend this place!!
My friends and I went to La Voile for a celebration. One of our party had called ahead so they had champagne glasses and a bucket of champagne on ice waiting for us on ice next to the table when we arrived. The service was absolutely incredible. The owner and Tessa served us and were so pleasant and wonderful. I had a La Voile cocktail, champagne, French onion soup, the bourgoignon, and crepe brûlée. Everything was amazing. I cannot recommend this place enough.
La Voile Brookline is lovely! The atmosphere inside is clean and quiet, the menu is true French fare, and our waitstaff was incredible. We will definitely be coming back and recommending. :)
The host was outstanding! The food was very good and there was heat.
When told about our celebration, Jonathan our waiter promptly returned with 2 complimentary glasses of Champagne!
Never waited or wanted for anything! Always attentive, always prompt and always professional!
Thanksgiving evening, we had never been here before but were intrigued by the menu. The servers were well informed, friendly, and helpful, and the room was comfortable and attractive. We had a variety of choices: one of us had the brandade and the other had the Perigourdine salad. For main courses we had the lamb, medium rare as requested, and the cod fish. I had creme brulee for dessert. Everything was beautifully prepared, presented, and delicious. We tried several wines and ciders by the glass, and every recommendations was right on target. We will absolutely return here, and are glad to have spent a holiday away from family in such a welcoming and enjoyable setting.
All around wonderful! We love both locations!
Great food, drinks, and service. 100% recommend.
Great foie gras. I had the duck and my wife the filet. Both were excellent.
Outdoor dining was cold and noisy but food was so good.
The food, atmosphere and service were absolutely wonderful. I always feel so welcomed when I come here. Thank you La Voile!
