La Voile Brookline
Le Duo de Foie Gras
Both Foie Gras!
Braised beef shoulder in a red wine aromatic broth, pearl onions, mushroom & baby carrots, Basmati rice
Escargots bourguignons cooked in garlic & parsley butter
Escargot were to die for, salmon and the duck plates were great. Good wine, great server. Chocolate mousse was a bit sweet. Could stand it to be much darker chocolate but that is just personal taste.
We went to La Voile to celebrate a birthday. The service was so slow that we had to leave before dessert (so no birthday cake). The food was very good. But considering the price and the poor service, it is not worth it.
Good food, better wine, great service. Outside tables were not particularly attractive.
Very good food and attentive staff. We requested an outside table near the street, which has a bit of a Paris street cafe feel.
Our third visit. Food is excellent, venue is quiet and no urgency and the service is top notch. This has become one of our favorite places to go for good conversation!
This was my second time at restaurant. First time I cane was Feb 2020 for lunch. I took my daughter to celebrate her 18th birthday last night for dinner. We both Enjoyed the food and the service was great.
The food was delicious. The wait staff were courteous. If you want to eat at a French restaurant this is the place.
We sat outside, it was delightful and delicious. Look forward to next time.
My favorite restaurant! Beautiful food, amazing service and lovely atmosphere. Everything from the intimate bar space to the outdoor/indoor dining is excellent!
This was the best French food we had in a while. Everything was cooked correctly and just as described in the menu. The service was unobtrusive and nearly perfect.
This is our go to place for celebrations including Birthdays and Anniversaries
The beet salad was very good. The escargot was a little salty, but still enjoyable. The duck confit is recommended. Very good experience.
My sister and I took my daughter to the restaurant to celebrate her birthday.
Love this place! The staff was super friendly and the food was amazing! Definitely recommend the charcuterie!
The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was wonderful. This is one of the best meals that I have had all year and cannot wait to go back again.
Delicious food! Very attentive service! Would definitely return! Loved the beet salad!
Good food and excellent service. The only thing I want to mention is the salad come with the main dish is not fresh. Actually some is turning bad. That is why I give 4 stars.
We might have been the loud table. A wonderful place for a celebratory meal: delicious food and wine!
It was like I was in France!
Sat outside on a charming evening. Unfortunately, the table was tilted and a little unstable, leading to one of us getting their iPhone broken as it slipped from the tabletop. Service was attentive and caring. The appetizers were delicious. The wine and cocktails were nice. All of us took the Dover Sole -- delicious! The forgettable dessert was the only weak spot in the meal. Overall, an enjoyable evening.
I was concerned about dining outside but they were very accommodating and gave us a table inside. Enjoyed the specialty cocktail and cidré. The double Foie Gras and smoked salmon were delicious. Everyone loved their entrees including lamb, duck confit and beef. All cooked perfectly to our taste (rare). A fine Wine and shared dessert and we were delightfully stuffed. Mercí
Everything we ordered was fantastic, service was great, and staff was super friendly.
Lovely restaurant and delicious dinner for a girlfriend dinner. Highly recommend!
I’ve been to La Voile many times and it’s always been excellent. Not tonight. We ordered from the Boston restaurant week menu. I had the onion soup and my bf had the salad with smoked salmon. Both were good. But the main courses were
Eating outside would be much more pleasant if the barriers blocking Beacon Street were more robust, as La Voile has done on Newbury Street.
Classic neighborhood restaurant with good food, always.
When you go to a restaurant that is less than a 15-minute walk away and ask yourself “why don’t we come here more often” that’s usually a good sign.
Somehow, in a lovely summer evening, this turned out to be just what we wanted. Excellent food and service, welcoming and helpful staff, we felt lucky.
Perfect except: outdoor seating in Washington Square is always going to be noisy. Lots of Friday commute frustrations being expressed by those driving down Beacon Street. And, honestly, a good value but not sure we could do it every time we might want.
Still: it’s been too long, and this goes to the top of the list for now!
Excellent service. Great food.
Courteous and caring service. Delicious food. The Dover Sole is marvelous!
We had called ahead of time for the crème brûlée to have a candle as it was birthday celebration but we did not get that so that is the only reason why they get a 4 stars. Otherwise fantastic place.
I really like this restaurant and will totally visit again. The food was awesome, some of my favorite are onion soup, mash patato, cream brulee. All of the dishes have high quality.
Every aspect of our meal at La Voile was superb! The service was perfect. The food outstanding - I highly recommend the. onion soup, the trout, the brie and the apple tart. Will return very soon!
superb and attentive service, add delicious food..a wonderful experience.
Great, safe atmosphere, with very helpful and welcoming staff. Food was excellent.
Trout was over cooked. Service took too long.
Salad dressing unappetizing.
Appetisers were great. Dover Sole was excellent. Mussels were mediocer. dessert was only fair Service was slow...slow...slow. Server was very pleasant but hard to find. It appears that the restaurant is under staffed at this time.
Excellent service and food. Once one very loud speaking client left it was more enjoyable. Some folks are just loud.
This place used to be very good but quality degraded a bit and the staff were not as experienced as before.
Exquisite service and cuisine, although the plump oysters were surprisingly at room temperature with no ice...
A local gem. Truly delicious French food. Two different fish dishes were, in particular, outstanding.
