La Villini Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I have really come to appreciate the quality of food that Frank puts on the table for his customers. Like a Sunday meal at home, in a family oriented restaurant. The chicken wings are so yummy, as are most of dishes he prepared. Can't recommend this restaurant enough!
1 out of 4 meals were good. I ordered the shrimp la villini knowing its a spicy dish and having it one time before and loved it but this time it was absolutely uneditable the peppers were so overpowering and no flavor someone changed the recipe I ate a few of the shrimp even though the taste was not good the chef really needs to taste his food besides my dish my friend had the chicken fontina presentation was very nice but so bland, chicken francaise way too lemony and the only good dish was the chicken parm and the bread was yummy unfortunately we are not going back sorry guys
Just a terrific place for a really good meal, great food excellent wait staff and a relaxed and enjoyable time. We have been going there for months and have never been disappointed. Their server Pepe brings a level of charm plus fantastic suggestions to every visit.
One of our go to neighbor restaurants -with great family style dining - prefixe dinner available during the week- you can order 1/2 size portions if you don't want to share - some highlights - mista salad always a pick with walnuts apples and the best house dressing -chicken wings - calamari was excellent - ala vodka - penne with sausage and broccoli rabe- sole Francese -shout out to Glen at the bar - Frankie and Karla are great hosts - must visit
La Villini Italian Restaurant is a nice, traditional Italian restaurant. The noise level (on a Friday night) was reasonable quiet despite the fact that it was rather crowded. The food was good -- I had the Veal Chop with a spicy Brown Sauce and roasted potatoes. I was warned it would be a little spicy, and it was -- more so than I liked. The chop was also "drowned" in more sauce than I considered necessary. Originally, I was thinking of getting just the plain veal chop and I'm sorry I did not. My wife was very happy with her sole oreganata over linguini. It was the "small" size, but was more than adequate. Our waiter was accommodating and friendly.
We probably won't go back. Although it was good, it was not remarkable and there are so many good Italian restaurants on Long Island.
We chose La Villini for our post-thanksgiving family dinner because of all the excellent reviews. We enjoyed our dinner, but the food was just okay. The veal parm was a little tough. The eggplant parm lacked presentation and was short on cheese--it was all stacked up on the platter with just one layer of cheese on the top. Service was good with an attentive waiter. All said, we probably won't come back.
When we arrive on Long Island from Jupiter Fla. this is a GO TO restaurant for us and our friends. Last night there were 6 dining guests with us and found the service by Dawn to be excellent. The food preparation delicious and cooked to perfection including the right temperature for all food ordered.
You just can't get a better meal around this town and it's the best bet for anyone's pocket book. Go try it for yourself and I'm assured you'll agree.
