La Trattoria Oceanside

Fabulous place, excellent staff and best of all, the food was outstanding.

We are locals in the Keys and first time visiting La Trattoria. We were unimpressed with the espresso martinis, but the lead bartender made it right and made us new drinks that were better. We were served cold bread, asked for warm, and they brought us warm. The antipasto tray was average. What made up for all of this was the tortellini with Parmesan sauce, peas and ham. It was fabulous. We were happy with the wine selection😀 Veal Marsala was also excellent. Was nice that they had a kids half pasta portion but wish they would have meatballs for children.

Their attention to Clients was exquisite. The risotto was the best I have ever eaten. Wonderful experience.

Very beautiful restaurant located on the NW corner of Sunset Key. Arrive on island by way of short 5 minute water ferry ride from Key West.
Outside seating and indoors. Outside palm trees have white lights strung around them. Great view of the ocean from our table!
Mixed drinks were well made and had good flavor with some less traditional options on the menu. The food was also very good and artistically presented. I very much enjoyed the yellow tail snapper and my wife liked her blackened grouper sandwich! A surprisingly great side was the jerk potato salad which had great flavor and was unique.
Also recommend taking a walk around the resort section of this island after your meal prior to returning to the ferry. The resort also has their own section of beach.

Food is always excellent and service is among the best!

Very good food and service. Had leftovers for lunch the next day, and just as good a day later.

My wife and I have been to LA Trattoria a number of times now as it is one of our favorite restaurants. We recently went with an old friend as his companion and shared a wonderful meal. Everything on their menu is excellent! I had my favorite Fettuccine Alfredo only this time I added chicken. My wife had Linguini with chicken and loved it. The service is first rate too!

I have endured difficulty in finding a good Italian place in KW.... and found it right next to our hotel. Great meal - no complaints. Thank you!!

Such a disappointment!!
Came here with high hopes after looking at other diner’s reviews and the great menu. Service was Terrible!! Waitress was inattentive, barely visible and made numerous mistakes with zero accountability or apology. Appetizers took 40 minutes and then were wrong and never corrected or apologized for. Had to ask another waiter in the area for water refills, plates cheated and check. We spent over $250 for mediocre food abs pathetic service. What a disappointment, especially on the first day of a a New Year. Many, many better options in Key West!

Excellent food

No finer Italian food on Key West! The crew here gets it! Super COVID friendly. The staff bends over backwards for you. Not uncommon for the actual Chef to come visit your table. Love Love Love this restaurant. Had so much fun writing this review, making another reservation as soon as I'm done!!

It was good food and the service was great

Great food and martinis. Pasta and seafood were cooked to perfection.

The food was very average. We went Christmas Day for dinner and the service was very good. We ordered spaghetti Bologna’s, fettuccini Alfredo and seafood ravioli. The ravioli was the best of all 3. My kids (young adults) did not care for their meals.

Mexican waiter in Italian restaurant with ingredients in Italian: total disaster when seeking advice. Then he repeatedly ignores our table and we twice have to yell at him to request more drinks or assistance. Unpleasant experience. Food good but not worth the price.

Have been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years. Good food, comfortable and great view of water. My husband loves the veal Marsala.

Friends Birthday and vacation

Great service from Joshua. The escargots were delicious, as was the homemade ravioli with lobster and blue crab meet. Nice wine selection, including by the glass.

We just love everything food, ambiance and the service. It also felt very safe place which is a priority for us . Thank you!

We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff there was very kind and even surprised us with the best celebration dessert that we’ve ever seen. I would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to have a special time down in Key West.

The food was very good although didn’t get salad dressing on side as requested and each of us couples shared our salads . In the past you would bring out on separate plates . We were not offered additional plates so we used our bread plates. Our waiter was busy and in past visits didn’t have to ask for water refills or try to get plates or attention , didn’t get offered Parmesan cheese either. It was busy for a 545 reservation but it was Labor Day weekend. We thought as locals going out early we’d be able to enjoy a more quiet dinner but I did some big tables there that night. It got very loud but we understand and trying to support our local folks . Although not our best experiences we will return again.

Always a great night at la trotoria. CJ is the best waiter and they are being very careful with our health. The fish is fresh and the pasta abundant. It’s a local favorite .

The restaurant has a great view of the ocean. Pasta was good although it wasn’t made in the restaurant. The veal lacked flavor.
