   This is my first review ever. Have always wanted to write one, but was always bothered on the idea of offending or negatively affecting a restaurant owner or a cook or an employee. I have gotten over that, so here I go... Sorry La Scala but you did not live up to expectations, not even close. I dine out for the wow! effect, not just for ‘okay’ food. The very young hostess that greeted us needs a bit more training (to be a bit more lively) as she represents the very second impression of the restaurant! Our server was super nice, but if you are seated outside you might be left craving more attention. The shrimp & crab dip was outstanding (and so was the craft beer recommended to me) but that was about it. My wife ordered a glass of Sauvignon blanc, but was served a Chardonnay instead (and at $15 not at all a good value., although cannot say the same for the very well priced beer). I was disappointed with the gnocchi bolognese, and my wife and teenage son didn’t make a comment about their chicken parmigiana or the eggplant parmigiana. Very unlike them! There was just an eerie silence in the table evidence of dissapointment. The portions were huge, which for us is a complete turn off. In retrospect, we should have gone back to the french bistro up the street. But we will be back for the beer and shrimp & crab dip! For some not expecting the wow! effect, dinning at La Scala should be just fine! Cheers.

   Nice menu, interesting items to choose from. Sat outside - waitstaff was handling both inside and outside which made service slow. Unfortunately.

   The food at La Scala is all very heavy and creamy. If you are looking for other Italian dishes besides noodles, this wouldn't really be my recommendation.

   The server was very friendly and helpful. Two of the four meals were decent to eat. One meal was barely edible and the other was refused as it was not even edible. The chicken was so overcooked on the two meals, that one wasn"t edible because the chicken was hard as a rock..the other one the chicken was fairly edible in the very middle but that was all..most of that meal was left. The wine list was good and the wine we ordered was excellent.

   We waited close to 10 minutes to be greeted (figured out later that our server had tables inside as well as outside). Our salads came out and within 2 minutes our entrees came out. We sat without drinks or water for 3/4 of our meal. Our server didn’t once come and check on us during dinner. We finally ordered a dessert then sat waiting for our check and our food to be boxed up. Our server than forgot our boxed food when she FINALLY came back to the table with our check. By the way, the entire meal we sat uncomfortably hot. It was my husband’s birthday and I was extremely disappointed and will not be going back.

   We hadn't been to La Scala for a couple of years and found the food to be very good with fresh ingredients. The wine list is a bit limited, but the server allowed us to sample several before our choice. We had a great server and a great evening.

    Terrible service for $90-100 meal for 2. Waiter had never even looked at the menu or even eaten there. We saw him twice the whole meal (had to get out of my seat to find him in order to settle the bill). Cocktails didn’t come for 45 minutes (nearly right when food arrived). Food tasted good but the whole experience left me feeling ripped off. Would not recommend.
