Reservations are necessary as it is small and extremely busy. We did not order the paella but stuck to the tapas. We ordered the potatoes bravado, the Brussel sprouts, the mushroom and chicken croquettes as well as a salad. Everything outstanding!!! I also ordered the sangria!!! Delicious!!!
Wonderful food and fun environment. Loved the SanGria ……….
Food was spectacular. Flavorful but restrained. To die for sangria. So many options of things to try. Will have to go back to taste them all!
We waited awhile to be acknowledged at the door. I personally don't like looking at a menu on my phone!! Please can I have a paper menu!!! The music was too loud combined with all of the people trying to shout over it. And honestly the service wasn't that great we waited too long on several occasions. Food was good. Not the best value. we paid 150.00 and left not quite full.
We were not allowed to dine. We were told that we had to show proof of vaccinations. Had I known I would not have made reservations. This was not stated on the website or anywhere at the restaurant. This ruined my girlfriend’s birthday dinner. By far the most disappointing worst thing I ever had to experience. Maybe you guys should update your website and let people know that they have to be vaccinated to dine at certain places
Berkeley issued a health order requiring that patrons of restaurants must show proof of vaccination.
Nice small place. Good food, bit noisy but good. Seemed under staffed.
If you like tapas, this is the place for you. *
Made an online reservation; hoped to sit outside as website said this was possible. Called to make sure as we have older people in our party and had hoped to sit outside. The first time I called, a young woman told me outside seating was NOT available on a Sunday. Then I called back as my mother said she was told something else. The man I spoke with on the second call said they were in flux with outdoor seating but assured me we COULD sit outside on Sunday and double-check my reservation. When we arrived for my mother's birthday....we were told we could NOT sit outside as it was not available on Sundays. We all pulled out our Covid vaccines bt then other people were being seated as we went through this process. It ended up being chilly so it was okay that we were inside - but frustrating not to have it be a clear policy.
The food well prepared and the ambiance was nice, the service was awkward and inattentive. We were ignored for long periods of time, presented a bill before we could order dessert. After dessert we couldn't get the bill for 30 minutes. The restaurant isn't that big. Service prevented a 4 or 5 start rating.
Had a very good dinner with kind and efficient service. So much flavor in everything we ordered!! Would come back again.
Usually good, but last night was a disaster. Super disappointing and expensive.
This was my 2nd visit. Both times were pleasant experiences, albeit this time was a little different due to new COVID restrictions. The only complaint I have is regarding those electronic menus that popped up after the Pandemic. I wish more restaurants would ask if you would want one vs the other. The food was delicious and the wine cold and crisp; perfect for a warm evening. I love that tapas food comes out quickly and that you can order with the flow of the evening. We stayed long and dint feel rushed out - very much apprenticed. I will be back!
The paella was bland and the service nonexistent. Several of the small plates were delicious but not enough to salvage the overall experience.
Everything was very tasty. We got ensalada mista, calamari, albóndigas, camarones a la parrilla, and pollo croquettes. For dessert we got torta de aceite and churros. Basically we would have skipped the fried ones (calamari, croquettes, and churros) the fried stuff was good but the rest was amazing. The olive oil cake and the French press coffee (serves two) was the highlight of the whole meal. I am still dreaming about that cake.
Overall great tapas place. Friendly staff, average ~good quality food, very reasonable price.
Noise level was crazy. Hard to have a reasonable conversation…
Great good, but clearly still recovering from the business challenges of Covid. Short staffed which resulted in food delays and lack of general table attentiveness (water, etc). Also a constant and large stream of delivery driving piling up inside the doorway inside of the restaurant. The food was itself was very good especially the paella mixta. We’d definitely return and hopefully by then the service will be back to normal standards.
First time eating inside a restaurant in 17 months, appreciated the safety measures in place. We had an emergency and had to push our reservation by a day, it was super easy to modify online. We’d missed our favorite spot this past year and it was lovely to enjoy the delicious menu in person again.
We enjoyed our dinner once again! Everything was delicious, full of umami goodness. We got there a few minutes early and they seated us without a problem. Give yourself a taste sensation and try everything!
The food was good and worth the price but they forgot to make our paella, a time-intensive food that they can’t really make at the end of the meal, despite confirming that we had indeed ordered it.
Would’ve liked a bit more attention but I acknowledge they were obviously understaffed
Make sure you want indoor or outdoor. We have diffuvulty to sit outside
Took nearly 30 mins until we got a drink and 45 mins until we got our first bite of food. Upon complaint, comp of dessert was all that was offered. Food was decent, but did not make up for poor service and the ambiance left some to be desired. Will not be eating here again.
The service staff was exceptional, I appreciated how knowledgeable our server was and on top of everything throughout the meal. The food was delicious as always and very timely.
This restaurant overbooks itself, and then crams people inside. We made reservations two weeks ago, and were sat near the front of the front door. Fine. Then Halfway through our meal they moved our table literally right in front of the front door. Then 10 minutes later they cram another table behind our table. There’s no social distancing going on, and the overall dining experience was not pleasant.
Service started off slow but got better pretty quickly. Fun place with a great vibe. Excellent menu and the food was pretty amazing!!!
Table was ready 15 minutes past the reservation. The sangria was just dry wine. The food was overpriced. The service did what they could due to being short staffed, and understandable because of covid. But never once was asked if our meal was ok or needed anything. I did not agree with any of the good reviews it had.
Awesome Spanish food and good service. We thoroughly enjoyed dining there. The Paella Valenciana was the real deal and Jamon Croquetas and Calamares were excellent!
I was disappointed with paella minera with seafood. The muscles and clams ver very small and the rice was dry and lacked flavor. The service and ambience were very good.
They were flexible to accommodate six of us late night and kept the kitchen open for us. Thanks
It was a great dining experience! We enjoyed our time there together.
The food is delicious. I would not eat indoor. It is a small and very crowded space. There is no vaccine requirement so it does not feel safe. They have an outdoor space which is comfortable and feels much safer. Unfortunately they do not take reservations for outside so the wait can be long. I would recommend that they make the space outside larger and take reservation or that they check people’s vaccine status for the indoor dining.
The food here is delicious and creative. The portions are excellent. Service is quite good.
The food is delicious - this visit we ordered the paella along with tapas. Unfortunately, the timing of our order was "off" and the tapas arrived much later than the paella. Didn't really affect our overall enjoyment of the food, just our eating preference (i.e. tapas first).
Each dish was a beautiful combo of taste and texture that delighted the palate. The Chicken Croquettes were the best I have ever had! I plan to go again and try every dish. Wonderful place to enjoy great food.
Beautiful and delicious tapas in a cozy and lively environment. Staff is super nice and helpful. We love going here.
Appetizers were mediocre and that's being kind. I've been here before, and it seems the staff might be new because the food seemed real bland. After awaiting our main course, paella, for over an hour. I kindly asked the status of our paella. It turns out they gave it to another table. They did offer free desserts, but I declined. I am certain I will give them a try in the future, but in the meantime, I think I am better off making my our Spanish dishes at home.
If you like tapas, this is the place to go in Berkeley! Great ambience, great service, excellent food. A tad spendy, but this is the Bay Area...
Food always tasty and consistent…it’s our favorite Spanish restaurant..service friendly and accommodating…will come again
