Valentine’s Day
Manager was rude at the face telling the servers to not take any more customers even though we had reservations. The food was good and great service by the servers. I would say everything was great except for the manager. And the manager is the reason for me not giving them more than 3 stars for service.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at La Fontaine. The food was delicious and service was attentive and anticipated our needs. Covid dining in a tent while it rained was a bit adventurous, but they provided a heater and we had a great time.
Love this place, great service, good food, love ambience
Hazan continues to concieve and deliver fantastic food with wonderful friends and family support. Keep up the exceptional cuisine in Mountain View Castro Street
I said pink in the middle but the filet was served red in the middle. The server took it back and the chef finished cooking it.
Also, wine service was slow.
But we will go back.
From appetizer to dessert, everything was extremely tasty. The Beef Wellington is my favorite, and was extra good friday! Highly recommended!!!
Prices over 50% higher than shown on Open Table.
Very nice place, delicious French food, professional employees.
They position themselves as French restaurant, but they are Italian in fact, with pizza and pasta in the menu. Very disappointing.
Amazing food and nice service, the seating by the street was a nice vibe
The pasta was perfect al dente on both the lobster ravioli and the seafood pappardelle
Food was passable for an Italian restaurant, but I'm really not sure where the "French" part came into play, save for one or two dishes plus creme brulee. Outdoor seating was nice, service was good, but the price for the food doesn't match the quality so I probably won't be returning.
Their dinner-special menu change from time to time. I was lucky to be able to try their carrot creamy soup, so delicious! I wasn’t able to try the bread pudding for dessert cuz I got so full from eating the duck breast. Maybe next time :)
Nice ambience, great staff and exceptional service overall. The vibes outdoor on Castro were just what I was looking for having a fun and romantic evening with my significant other.
There were only a few servers who seem to pay attention to only certain tables. After our apetizer our entre took too long to arrive. Overall poor experience.
First time here, white pandemic, the outdoor sitting was actually enjoyable on a nice summer evening. Mountain View city made it nice by closing the street so we can make sure to have the social distance. The food is good and service were good, definitely visit again when we needed an Italian fix.
We had a very enjoyable birthday dinner...........
We dined outside on a Monday evening. The food was excellent and the service was very good.
We ate outside per the Covid guidelines. Castro Street was completely closed so the restaurants all had lots of outdoor seating. Very nice tree lined ambiance. Overall a very nice dinner.
First time eating out, literally. It was a pleasant experience since SIP had started. Felt safe. Food was delicious and staff were very attentive.
Great service. The whole street was close down to make room for out side dining had a nice ambiance for all the restaurant on the street
In the time of COVID they are doing a really nice job of taking care of their customers. The food was very good and the service was spot on. Overall value was high. Really enjoyed the experience.
Al Fresco dining (eating outdoors) on Castro Street! We've eaten outdoors at 4 different restaurants the last few weeks, and La Fontaine did it the best. Delicious food, reasonable prices, great service. Note - specify when reserving (or call them) if you'll be ordering wine, because they can serve it to sidewalk patio tables, but not to the new tables in the blocked-off street. They will seat you accordingly. (Glad we did!)
Speaking of wine - many to choose from, with by-the-glass varieties from $9.50-$16. The Zin was awesome, fruity and smooth. The Ciu Ciu Montepulciano was pretty dry, like a Chiante.
Food: excellent bread on the table, with oil & balsamic. We loved it. Caprese Salad delicious, but only 3 slices each of tomato and mozzarella. Prosciutto w/melon was fair.
Tre Colores (rigatoni?) ($24) was AWESOME. The creme sauce is to die for. The entree with the unpronouncable name (starting with the letter O) was delicious, also, with a hint of bacon. The Angel Hair with marinara was good, but did get boring halfway through. Would be a good one to share, maybe with the Gnocci.
Seating was immediate, service prompt, water glasses kept filled. The only slow part was waiting for the check - or offer of desert! But this has happened at all 4 of the restaurants I mentioned; not quite sure why. Highly recommended!
Food quality was not so good. I think the quality has gone down.
We celebrated my wife’s birthday here. We had great meals, wonderful service and a lovely time.
Food was amazing! Service was great! Thank you 🤩
We had a great time. Great service, delicious pasta and seafood and great drinks. We were delighted to have live music during our meal. Quite a treat and we will return!
We came to listen to our friends...the Lily Alunan Trio, hence they medium noose level. excellent food and ambiance
Lovely little restaurant. Very nice menu, reasonably priced. We both had the Poulet aux Champignons and it was delicious!
And happily it was quiet enough for my girlfriend and I to chat.
Definitely recommend.
Nice ambience and Food !!
This small bistro provides a consistent menu choice that includes unique specials and good variety of food choices. All dinners have been enjoyable and provide filling portions. It is always a treat for a quite dinner out!
Service below average at best and food tasted less than average. Not close to any authentic French nor Italian food. Definitively will not visit or be taken again.
I visited for Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend and the restaurant was packed, but the Owner Hasan, and our waiter still took amazing care of us.
Must visit if you live in Mountain View or one of the surrounding areas!!
I love their food. Good price nice and cozy place.
Everyone on the staff was very nice even on a busy night. We just didn't feel the food was worth the price. I'm usually willing to pay $90+ for a price fixe meal (3 courses with a drink included doesn't seem bad!) but the food in this case disappointed us. Maybe because they were so busy? The crab ravioli was very rich but enjoyable. The tomato sauce on the eggplant appetizer was tasty! But the scallops were kind of fishy, and my dining mate received a large 16oz steak that ended up being really gristly--it was seemingly cooked fine, but seems like they didn't have a great source for the beef and perhaps tried to make up for it in volume? And unfortunately the tiramisu was pretty dry. Ultimately an only OK experience that left us wishing we'd gone for something more satisfying for the price that night.
Restaurant was great and we enjoyed evening with good meal and service! Very recommend!
First time there and found it to be very nice! The servers and service were very good! Smiles and attentive! The food was good but not great! It is nice place to be able to have a conversation too.
Love this place. Great menu, excellent food, and really lovely services, always. My favorite restaurant in Mountain View.
La Fontaine is a little gem that my wife and I recently discovered. The menu includes French and Italian entrées that are reasonably priced. We tried the Salmon Wellington and Lamb Risotto. Both were delicious. The restaurant is quiet with a nice ambience.
