La Fiamma Italian Restaurant and Bar Ratings and Reviews
We discovered La Fiamma through a recommendation from our hotel. It was a gem of a find. The food was just like Mama made it and the service was very attentive. It is a bit of an odd combination of a sports bar and finer dining restaurant all in one room, but it wasn't busy when we were there so noise wasn't a problem. The staff brought a tasty piece of tiramisu for our daughters birthday celebration.
What a great find in Harrison. We were warmly greeted and welcomed and seated immediately. The service was outstanding, the food delicious and the atmosphere, while not fancy, just perfect for our group of 8. We all enjoyed our dinner and the staff were all wonderful. This restaurant moves to the head of the list of our new favorite place!
Delicious food was paired with delightful waitor. The restaurant was full and had a very nice feel. The ravioli were divine perfection. Chocolate soufflé was the best dessert. Service was absolute perfection. If only everyplace could be so charming and full of attentive staff. My 18 year old son off to college grinned from ear to ear when he heard the specials. If I wasn't living in Seattle I would go there regularly.
This is hands down the best restaurant in Harrison NJ. This place will treat you as family, and will accommodate any need you have for your meal. We have been going here for almost 10 years now and it’s been superb every time we go. We had a party of 10 people and everyone finished their plates. I hardly order from the menu since the daily specials are so good and fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion, that romantic date night, or just want to watch a game at the bar. You will be highly pleased. Thank you again La Fiamma and Angelo for the amazing food and service! See you next time we are back in NJ!
If you are looking for an authentic Italian dinner, this is NOT the place. We had two pasta dishes and neither was tasty, or seasoned. My fettucini with clams tasted like Campbells chicken noodle soup with overcooked clams. The Caesar salad was not a Caesar, but rather a mix of greens with a mayonnaise like dressing, it was good but not what it should have been.
The waiter and maitre'D were very nice and tried to do everything to make up for the food. My guess is they just didn't get it. Anyway, the Irish coffees we had after dinner instead of dessert were very good and they didn't charge for the fettucini. I think they have the right attitude, but need an Italian chef/cook to make it work. I wish them the best.
We stopped in for an early dinner before a concert at the Prudential Center. We had a great time, the service was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. This is Old School Italian in the best sense of the word. They were very accommodating with special requests or adjustments to the dish. We got there at 5 and the place was already pretty crowded with regulars from the neighborhood. If you are looking for place to eat before going to the Pru Center this is an excellent choice.
I was eating by myself and decided to try this local restaurant. I was greeted and seated. Then, everyone decided to forget that I was there. I ordered a nice bottle of wine, that I would cork and take bacon to my hotel room for following days. The main waiter was all over that, but finally I had to get up and ask for a menu from the bartender! Yep, it was one of those "we really don't believe in service if you're by yourself " nights. The funny thing is, the main waiter kept telling me how important these reviews are to their business! If the shoe fits, wear it. There are other restaurants in close proximity that ARE service oriented and fantastic food.
We went there before a show at the Prudential center & were amazed at the quality of food , variety of drinks & the service which was excellent
Tables were a little cramped & the neighborhood was not that great but food was excellent which made up for all the deficiencies of ambiance , neighborhood etc
Meravigliosa! When we heard from friends that their layover at Newark Airport from Europe to Minnesota would last several days because of bad weather, my first thought for dinner was a Spanish/Portuguese restaurant in the Ironbound district. Since they were returning from Portugal, however, I decided Italian would be more appropriate. That's when I learned of La Fiamma Italian Restaurant and Bar, and it was wonderful - from the service to the food to the price. I started with a very nice Insalata La Fiamma. Then we each had a different special. Here is where the evening could have gone very badly. Three of us were extremely happy. My swordfish special, however, was quite tough. Our server immediately saw that I was not happy and asked what I would like instead. I had originally intended to order the Ravioli stuffed with fresh lobster and brandy tomato sauce, so they prepared that without question. It was done so quickly that no one had to wait (yes - it was freshly prepared and it was delicious). Later they explained the problem with the swordfish, which was excusable. The server and management were extremely pleasant and made our dining experience memorable. I certainly will return.
Family night out to see Trans Siberian Orchestra at the Prudential Center , after all of the reviews we decided to have dinner here-we did not leave disappointed! The place is cozy & dinner was delicious. The staff was attentive but not overwhelming. Definitely a neighborhood gem!
This is truly a restaurant gem! We thoroughly enjoyed it! The food was positively delicious and the service was excellent, as they went out of their way to accommodate us, including providing an item that was not on the menu. My Godson wanted Shrimp Linguine in alfredo sauce which was not on the menu, but the Chef prepared it for him and he talked all night about how good it was! Will definitely visit La Fiamma again the next time we are in the area.
Great for pre-theater NJPAC. We made a reservation and were delighted to find that our reserved table was a comfortable semi-circle booth. The service was outstanding and very friendly, the prices very reasonable, and the food great! If this restaurant was in my neighborhood (we live in CT), we would be going there weekly. We will be sure to visit again when we go to NJPAC.
