Made reservations for a Thursday night to meet a friend I hadn't seen in 27 years. Noise level made it a bit difficult to conduct a conversation unless we raised our voices a bit. Food was good, but we received an order we didn't place and therefore had to wait a bit longer for the food we actually ordered. Margaritas might be slightly weaker than those I have had at most other restaurants, but still okay. Thought I had read they had valet parking, but apparently not. Also, pull out your cell phones to light the menus or otherwise you'll struggle just a bit. Nice overall, but not sure I would go back again.
La Condesa is great for a date - just cozy enough yet open enough. The food is fantastic, just expect small portions. Love this place!
Slow service when we were one of ten tables there. Very disappointed.
We went for valentines day!
It was our first time walking in, we got seated within 3 minutes with a reservation! Quick tip: Parking at Austin city hall is $10 flat which made for a 1 minute walk as the restaurant is adjacent to the parking spot.
They had a prior valentines day menu available, we requested the whole menu as well as two drinks, off the normal menu we requested a grapefruit margarita which was topped off with grapefruit garnish, it was delicious.
The first appetizer arrived, it was a large tostada split in two to share with your partner, it contained microgreens, baby shrimp, a type of spicy peanut sauce, it was a a good start to the romantic evening.
We had three tacos that arrived after, it was Barbacoa chopped into tiny pieces on homemade tortillas, it was an elevated version of what I am used to from my home, expected for the price, it came with radishes and lemons with that spicy peanut sauce in the tacos. My girlfriend rated the tacos 6/10 as she loves homemade versus artisan food, I rate them 8/10 cause I loved that damn sauce.
After that they brought the following entree, nothing special, accept it was freshly made with handmade tortillas, we had flautas (Rolled up tortillas with stuffing inside) that included a type of cheese and potato inside with other spices. It came with the spicy peanut sauce, cut green peppers for spice as well as sliced banana peppers, it was delicious.
After this we asked for the check and dessert, the previous plates we're brought in at amazing times, one by one and freshly cooked, it's definitely a shareable menu.
The check arrived first, in a leather pocketbook. The dessert arrived shortly after, a scoop of raspberry sorbet with walnuts, glaze and a chocolate fudge mini cake on the side. Beautiful experience to share after having a 3 course meal with drinks.
The bill came out to $90 with all the food and drinks, after tip it came out to $105, the price was great based off the food, experience, and comfort. <3
It was a great dinner. The cauliflower was amazing.
Nice experience, 1 veg/vegan entree, but really creative & good. Hospitable, friendly staff.
Love this place but either my buddy lied about the bill or I really did spend $25 on a salad and two tacos.
For the record, I don't mind spending $25 on tacos but with the number of options around town these days (Nixta and Suerte specifically) La Condesa really needs to step it up to justify the price point.
My meal was wonderful, as always. A great brunch!! And a great dessert at brunch, too!!
La Condesa is a beautiful space on a beautiful street serving thoughtfully secured and prepared delicious food. The red snapper platter served two very nice with perfect handmade heirloom corn tortillas! Just wonderful!!!
Great food, drinks, and service. I ate the best ceviche I’ve ever had hands down and their margarita la Condesa was ridiculously good. Keep it up!!
Delicious! Great imaginative menu! We loved it!
My son and I enjoyed a fabulous Sunday brunch and would highly recommend! CHIPS & GUACAMOLE TASTING, CHORIQUESO, & the HUEVOS CONDESA! Wonderful service, fun atmosphere, & great location. Enjoy!
I absolutely loved this place! I went with my husband for date night without the kids and glad we went here. From the host to the food and the ambiance everything was great! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone!
We loved the shareable plates.
They have great food (especially the carrot salad) and outstanding, attentive service. Love the La Condesa margheritas!
Fantastic! Huarache, paloma, lime pickled butternut on the guac, all fantastic.
The food was delicious but menu and understanding portion sizes was difficult.
I have stayed away from La Condesa for years after a mediocre experience there that I barely even recall. I decided that was silly and my sister and I had a girls' night out there recently.
Sigh. Now I remember why I stopped going there. While the ceviche and margaritas are wonderful, the rest of the food is truly lackluster and overpriced. The ambiance and service were great, but they can't cover for food that is overly ambitious and not well-executed.
Staff was very accommodating and food was excellent
we highly recommend la condesa, our favorite austin restaurant.
This is a great place to eat. It’s not your typical TexMex which was a nice surprise. The food was really good!
Reservation for 4/Time: 2 Hours
Cocktails: Great place to taste tequilas. I like to choose a tequila and mix it with soda. (Their margaritas are a bit sweet for me.)
Food: Appetizer: LOVE their Ceviche! Entree: I am not a vegetarian...but their vegan dish was excellent.
Excellent. Exactly what we were looking for: mouthwatering ceviche, great drinks, lively atmosphere.
They’ve changed up the menu - lots of new and interesting dishes, including some new veg options. The huitlacoche huarache (on the menu since they opened) is one of my favorite dishes in town.
I would recommend La Condessa to a savvy, wealthy, urbanite friend.
First time visiting Austin and first night out. My husband and I were not impressed with the food at all. Average at best.
La Condesa is hands down my favorite restaurant in Austin! Not only do they have amazing service, and ambiance, they also always surprise me with their incredible menu. Every dish from the apps to entrees to dessert is a unique experience of incredible flavors!
We were a group of 4 first time to Austin and first dinner of our trip. We loved it!!! We wanted to try everything so did a shared sampling of different menu items. The guacamole and salsa sampler was great as was the cauliflower. All was delicious along with the best margaritas! Our server Jeremy and his menu suggestions were perfect ! We will definitely be back to La Condesa and highly recommend it.
Crazy expensive for what it was. Tasty, but $28 for just some mushrooms, chimichurri and verde sauces? Even the tortillas were $5 extra? I know downtown is expensive, but that's just ridiculous.
The food taste was really poor. I do not have an idea what was wrong with the chef, but did he/she ever heard about good taste? Simple Food without taste at all and Medium average Services. Nothing to write home about. Only expensive!!!
La Condesa is excellent and does not serve your typical Mexican menu selections. Very unique and yummy offerings that were excellent. Highly recommend!
We decided to celebrate our anniversary at La Condesa and we had a great time. The service and food was excellent.
Delicious upscale Mexican food, fit for sharing so everyone can taste various dishes.
La Condesa is wonderful! My boyfriend and I decided to celebrate our anniversary at La Condesa and we couldn't have been happier with the experience! We went specifically for their amazing brunch and cocktail options. My bf ordered the Huevos Rancheros and I ordered the Pombazo Torta. The Ranchero sauce on the huevos rancheros was DELECTABLE my torta was incredibly savory and delicious. The margaritas were made as they should be made, and not with sugary additives. We were surprised at the end of our meal with dessert on the house to help us celebrate our special day. All in all, we will most certainly be returning and I cannot wait to experience it La Condesa all over again. ¡Bravo!
Always have a good meal and my client enjoyed it. The one drawback was our server was very aggressive in getting us to order and move on. First time I ever felt like that and my client casually made reference to that
Great service from the entire staff and every dish was delish.
Invited friends and although everything was ok, nothing was exceptional. I would recommend the combo guacamole and the steak we shared was good.
Great food, esp. the Tamale. I would have loved to see a non-alcoholic cocktail menu for those of us who are pregnant. Service was great and overall we will be back again.
