   I chose La Condesa for a special occasion (I got the job!) because I hadn't been there in 15 years and it used to be my favorite special place. I took my teen children so they could experience a "fancy" restaurant (we don't usually go to places that charge $40 for chicken) and they were appalled. It was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk -- including the waiter. The blue corn tostadas that came with our guacamole were so thick, hard and tasteless that we renamed them "death crackers". My daughter's mushroom entree was unappealing to look at, difficult to eat (undercooked?), and overly salty. My son's chicken mole was a plate of chicken in mole sauce (which he did not like) with shaved onions, some sort of white sauce, and sliced avocado, which was confusing. Was he supposed to make a salad for himself with those ingredients? The bill — including a generous tip (old waiters can't help but overtip) — was $223.00 for one app (death crackers and quac), one Ranch Water, two entrees, one small plate, and two desserts (to go, so we could actually enjoy them in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere — at home.)

   Food was good that we had but have to be ok with no flour tortilla option, no rice, beans and small, expensive drinks. Only thick blue corn or dense corn tortillas. Cool but very loud atmosphere making conversation difficult. Not in a hurry back to expensive limited menu restaurant.

   Attentive, friendly server! Short rib quesadilla excellent as was the grilled corn and pumpkin seed hummus apps! Grilled shrimp had a too spicy topping that overwhelmed the delicacy of shrimp. Great place to go before hitting a concert!

   Thank you for a fantastic evening. We had an issue with the reservation and were seated 45 min late which was not ideal as this was a business meal but the team made up for it. The server was fantastic, and super helpful in explaining and recommending dishes. The restaurant covered a round of drinks and that was a fantastic gesture. Thank you all for an amazing meal!

   The service was great, the vibe was wonderful, food was delicious! Our only concern would be that the menus were very hard to read. The combination of low lighting and the blue background made it tough - thankfully, our server was very knowledgeable and make great recommendations.

   Excellent food and service. A confusing 20% gratuity charge was added without explanation. Definitely made for an unexpected annoyance when totaling up the bill. Wasn't a large party and this policy isn't on the website or menu. Feels unethical to do this without explanation.

   The brunch was Mexican centered, and terrific. So too the service where the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It can be a bit pricey, yet a very enjoyable time.

   The food is really terrible , spent 90 dollars for one and I was one , disappointed and two , really hungry . Everything was meh , the drink , the oysters , the ceviche . Like not well thought plates or drinks . I should of gone to any of the restaurants around .

    over priced for food that was just OK. the broccoli on special was two pieces in a sauce for $20. The crudo was bland. The veracruzana was delicious. the wait staff was super good, nice, friendly.

    They no longer have the brunch happy hour but the manager was gracious enough to honor. So I’d be mindful of that not being updated on open table. Other than that food and drinks were delicious and would definitely recommend them

    The food and drinks were exceptional (though a bit pricey). I highly recommend the Margarita La Condesa. Tacos and ceviche and churros were also great. The service was mixed. The people who refilled our water and brought out the food were very attentive, but our server seemed a bit rude. I felt that the server was disappointed that we weren’t spending more and more money for multiple rounds of drinks and appetizers and such. And after dessert, the server quickly forced the check onto us.

    Was very loud. Really enjoyed the farm to table aspect of the menu though. The corn tortillas made from scratch were amazing as well. Too loud for date night though. Would come back for drinks though!

    Made a 1 pm brunch reservation and was seated immediately. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. We ordered queso flameado for appetizer and it was delicious. I paired it with margarita with mezcal in lieu of Tequila. The mezcalrita was oaky and smooth. For the main courses, we ordered barbacoa and carnitas. They were both wrapped in banana leaves which gave them an aromatic taste and they were crispy and soft. The corn tortillas were thick and chewy. Really enjoyed our Saturday brunch.

    Amazing food with a cool ambience. The waiter made some excellent suggestions. Plenty of options to chose from. The carne asada tacos are out of this world (Must Try). I’ve had Tres Leches many times before but this one’s the winner.

    My wife and I love Mexican food of all kinds — this place was stellar. Probably not a place to bring the kids (the food is spicy) but definitely a great spot for date night. One of the best quesadillas I’ve ever had. It’s expensive but worth it.

    I’m all for paying more for well sourced food but this way way overpriced. $18 for a margherita and $14 for 5 ounces of wine? Gives you a little indication. How about some broccoli for $24? The food was very good, though cervice had not much fish and was over salted. Pork tacos were beautiful, Camarones appetizer very nice as well as the grilled corn. Service was spotty. It friendly when we had someone. Many other places in Austin with great food well sourced ingredients without being completely ripped off.

    An experience and not just a meal. The service was personal but not invasive and they even included a bonus plate to try. Amazing pork and shrimp. Presentation spot on. They deserve the James Beard award.
