I took my family there for a late Easter brunch. The kids loved the Easter bunny that greeted them and there were plenty of choices from the buffet for them to eat. The prime rib was especially good. Service was excellent. The visit was definitely worth it and we will eat there again. My wife was very interested in the extensive wine list and was happy to learn about the regular wine tastings which occur at La Cave.
All four participants had a very enjoyable time with good quality food. Would/will do again....
This was one of the worst dining experience that we have ever had. All that I can come up with is that their kitchen must have had a catastrophic failure that evening. Our waiter was terrible and not the least bit interested in ensuring a good memorable evening.
After waiting for 2 hours for our food, getting our water refilled by another waiter only after asking, and receiving food that was sub par, we were pretty perplexed.
We were not. Barged for our main courses, but the entire experience has left a bad taste for this restaurant.
This is the first Open Table restaurant disaster.
Just ok, i expected more from the reviews, food was fine but nothing to write about.
Nice atmosphere, pleasant staff, meal was marginal, beef was grizzly and not prepared as requested for 3 of us then replaced the green veggie with a leak. The servers knew nothing of the on-line advertised 4 course prefix.
Hostess was great, server polite but not super friendly. The other server was much more personable. Brunch fair was standard and pleasant. Nothing special or worth a breakfast date. Might try a wine tasting and see if a different time of day and meal will be different.
The restaurant was not very busy. The greatest promptly and got us her table. Because someone was in training we ended up having three people help us. The trainee was a little nervous and they spend just a little more time at her table then necessary but that is how training goes :-). The duck was pretty good, same with the lamb. Nothing amazing but it was good and prices were OK.
I made a last minute reservation here for Christmas night because this was my first Christmas away from family and I wanted to treat myself to a wonderful evening of good food and good wine. When we arrived the host/sommelier, I assume, greeted us and took us to our table. He was very polite and I was excited for a good dinner. Upon meeting our waiter I had noticed that things were a bit off. My two other friends and I are all between 22-25 and could tell that the waiter wrote us off because of that. Two of us are in the service industry and tip well especially because its the holidays I leave extra. But this service was nothing to write home about. Our waiter neglected us and paid much more attention to his other tables. When asking for bread, that every other table had gotten, we were met with a response of "I'll see what I can do," and nothing more. For someone who had gone out to dinner expecting to drop a good amount of money on herself I was extremely let down and offended. The food was good and the overlook was wonderful but I wouldn't go back for the fact that I was judged before the evening ever started. On any night that would be a sucky part of service, but with it being Christmas it made it even worse.
I was more than pleased with the service and the food at La Cave. I'm certain I will have dinner there again. I like wine but don't know too much about it. When I tried to explain the kind of wine I wanted to the steward, he actually recommended a wine that came pretty close to what I envisioned. I really enjoyed myself and so did my friend who came with me. Thank you La Cave for a fantastic evening.
We went with a group of Christmas Eve dinner because it had been so good last year. Unfortunately, my meal was poorly cooked. They took it back and tried to fix it, but that's never optimal. The dessert was pasty tasting and not very good. Others in the group had better luck. I still think it's a good restaurant, but too pricey to accept mediocre food.
Great food, nicely varied menu. Ambiance and view were lovely.
Had a fabulous meal with my girlfriend. The calamari was terrific, and my date had the Monk fish while I enjoyed a steak. Both were delicious and the service by Ryan was top notch. Go to this place in the summer and watch the clouds roll out east as you have an amazing view of downtown Denver that is a gem in Lakewood. Parking is easy and you'll just enter the Sheraton hotel to access the restaurant. Definitely worth going to for a quiet night as most people don't even know this spot exists!! Great for anniversaries or other special occasions where you just want to enjoy a good meal at a reasonable price with great views of Denver from the foothills of Lakewood!
Excellent menu with outstanding food. Fillet Mignon was very tender and tasty. Potatoes au gratin were the best I have ever had at a restaurant. Unusual martini menu. The two we tried were excellent. Wine pairing selections with the food were all very good. Extensive dessert drink menu as well as very good desserts. Definitely a neighborhood gem! The service was as great as the food.
We like it because it is usually quiet and conducive to conversation.
They bought our entrees before we had even finished starters. We asked to wait for the entrees by the time they returned they were cold!
La Cave always has quiet seating and phenomenal service. When the owners are present, they treat you like family. The staff is highly knowledgeable about wine and liquors, and the food always comes out superb. The wine dinners are so much fun, and accommodating large parties is never a problem.
We had a great time. The food was good as well as the service. We liked the hostess seating us at the back window, which offered a great view of the city at night. We are looking forward to our next visit. The rest of the menu looked very good.
We recently had the wine dinner at La Cave and wow! The meal is $70, with wine which each course, and they delivered the value so well. Food was excellent. Wine was excellent. The pairing selections with each course were great. Richard, the distributor did a great job with the discussion, and Youseff and Elizabeth were awesome hosts.
Very cold / went on a rainy night in August and AC was turned way up. For a wine bar thought wine recommended for appetizers was awful.
Best place to be in Denver for special occasions and wine dinners! Their unique menu it is always surprising us every month when we go there for the wine dinner. The owners show a lot of passion when it comes to hospitality and food! We love everything about La Cave!
The food was great, service even better and nice music from the lounge. This is a West suburb gem.
Good food and service. We had Mario as a server and he was great. We will go back
Decent atmosphere, good food, not a great selection for brunch, but adequate.
Good service, easy access to food, appreciate the ramp so did not have to use stairs.
Price was decent
I have had a number of great meals here, this time the food was a bit disappointing: calamari over-crisped, lamb shank over cooked. On the other hand, the Tuscan Kale Salad was delicious and the scallops were outstanding. And the service was great: attentive without being intrusive.
I came here with my aunt as a girls night out. We tried the la cave salad which was lackluster. The caprese salad was excellent. Also had the mushroom tart which missed the mark a bit. Tried the duck and that was a fail. Chewy and rubbery. Ended with apple tart. My overall experience was fair.
Nice menu but tasteless meats. Cheeses on cheese plate were very average.
We really enjoyed our time at La Cave. Great food and quiet enough to hear the person next to you talking. Want an enjoyable evening.
We love La Cave Restaurant! Such a great place, awesome food and of course the best service in town! We love going there at least once a month, it's our get together place!
Absolutely the best wine dinner in town with great live music and great atmosphere!
Great meal! The food was wonderful, the service was great, and the wine list is very extensive with options for every wine enthusiast. The manager came over at the end of the meal and poured us both a free glass of a very nice moscato. Great ending to a great meal.
We went for Valentine's Day. Their prix fixe menu was a great option for a big appetite and I liked that it was optional. My date had that and I had a la carte. Mine ended up being more expensive. Service was impeccable.
I've been there for lunch, too, and it's excellent.
A romantic setting looking out at the Denver night lights. Management was interested in over seeing all aspects of the resturant and comfort of the patrons. Our server was courteous, attentive to all our needs with great attention to knowledge of all food and drink served (and her accent was charming). Want to put a great cheer out there for the chef the food was created with perfection and a wonderful flair on appetizing plateing. The over all resturant was charming and set up as individual areas for fine dining, bar and large groups, atmosphere was quite and romantic. Enjoyed our anniversary and would return and recommend to others
Went to LaCave for New years eve for dinner. Service was impeccable and the food was great! Will definitely go back again.
Delicious food!! Our server was terrible but the other service was great, the guy replenishing our water and the hostess.
This was a great idea for our book club Christmas brunch. We had our own room and so were able to enjoy each others company and talk about the book. Unfortuneately the food was not good. The biggest comment was that is was dry and undercooked.
We thought the food very good and the ambiance terrific. They have an excellent menu and a great wine list.
We really liked our waiter Mario. The food was very good and the service was excellent. There is a nice view of downtown at night by the window.
My wife are new to the Denver area and did not have the means to fix a Thanksgiving meal. We chose Le Cave to dine on this special occasion. We were not disappointed. They offered a great meal with very generous portions just like you'd dish up for yourself on Thanksgiving. I cannot speak to the normally available menu as this night only the Thanksgiving special was offered. The service was very friendly and prompt.
I dined here while staying at the Sheraton. I had a filet that was very slightly overcooked and the flavor was fine - nothing fabulous and not bad - just fine. It's definitely overpriced for the quality of food but it's great by hotel restaurant standards. The service was wonderful. Monica was my server. She was attentive, helpful and efficient.
I don't think I would go out of my way to come here, but if you're in the hotel (or close by), it's a decent meal at a high price.
Hard to write a review for a restaurant of this size that had one other table being served and that was at the bar. The food was very good. Service was good.
There was absolutely no atmosphere. Think 4000 square feet and four people.
