Honestly there is really nothing Mexican about this place. The environment was nice and all but the menu was so small and nothing Mexican on there menu besides tortillas and street corn. My group ended up just grabbing drinks (mediocre) and going somewhere else for dinner.
A delicious meal, fresh and savory, friendly service.
I selected the restaurant for the fish and appetizers for my granddaughters HS grad dinner (late due to my arrival north delayed). Fish was great - the appetizers were disappointing. Guacamole was runny an ceviche loaded with avocado (hardly any fish). Great deserts.
This place was below average. The food wasn’t bad and the drinks were fine, but there were such limited options, which made it really hard to find something for everyone to eat.
Thank you for a great experience.

Everything was Awesome! A gem of a restaurant. Highly recommend.
The place is very cute and gives a cool vibe. There is artwork walking towards the bathroom and they also have outside seating. The food gave Ethiopian meets American but we enjoyed everything. There is a red sauce served with the chips that is a tad bit spicy and the quesadilla is not like a regular quesadilla but it's good.
My wife ordered a spicy margarita and loved it.
The pork tamale was excellent!
Unfortunately no kid’s meals available. Steak my wife ordered was also good.
Overall our serve Christian a believe, was very good. The pork tamale was the best.
I love this place! It is a truly unique place with amazing food. You must go there now!
First time dining at La Brasa and I was impressed by the experience overall – we weren't able to reserve spots on the patio ahead of time, but they were able to seat us outside anyway. All the dishes were delicious – we ordered three different options to share and taste a variety, but we all loved our own plate and barely wanted to share!
Best of the best of Somerville authentic Mexican cuisine with Mexican chef and a great staff.
Do not hesitate to go.
The best traditional contemporary Mexican Restaurant I have had (this means a lot coming from someone born and raised in mexico city), they really cook in a traditional way, you cant never go wrong with them.!
Pretty good - I remember the menu being bigger + better but it was still a good experience!
I have never had a bad experience at A Brasa. Tonight the seafood ceviche was Devine- the perfect amount of citrus balanced with the avocado and blood oranges. The special pollo- chicken legs with mole. My taste buds are perfectly satiated. And the service was not rushed, polite and informative.
As always, I heartily recommend La Brasa!
Food was great! Cute place!
Nice place. It wasn't overwhelmingly amazing but not bad at all. A little loud for such small seating available in a large space. Ceviche was delicious.
Delicious food. Loved the atmosphere too. Servers were friendly. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant.
I have always heard good things in the past but after trying to food last week I was very disappointed. Nothing tasted good. Even the guacamole was puréed and flavorless. At least the waitress was nice.
Really delicious ceviche and guacamole, great service as well. Very cute patio!
Good food, nice ambiance. We went for a date night.
Cute environment. Music is not too loud. Menu is very limited though. We had the steak and the ceviche. No complaint.
Great food, although a little pricey... dishes are not as fancy as to cost that much. But they are tasty.
Menu was very limited but food was good as always
This is one of East Somerville's gems. During pandemic times, they've shrunk the menu considerably, but everything on it is great, they know how to cook a steak, and they've been making tortillas by hand. (It's one of the only places I'm comfortable dining indoors, since the eponymous wood-fired grill in a very open kitchen means the place is epically well ventilated.) Their vibe is always awesome, a bit of CDMX in Somerville.
Great food and ambiance. We enjoyed our dinner here.
Fresh ingredients, composed combination of flavors.
The food was terrific. The menu was limited (I believe due to Covid). Will definitely go back and look forward to trying more items when the menu is expanded.
Small portions. Food is Overpriced. Drinks are very weak. Nice place to go to if your are on a diet and if you don't want to catch a buzz. Not a place that you would have leftovers.
The Pollo and Bavette were excellent. The Rice pudding was not as good as the mexican chocolate cake... Service was great.
Great food but menu was very limited and were rapidly running out of wines. Cocktails were great
La Brasa had delicious innovative dishes, great ambience, it was warm, chill and just an overall wonderful experience.
Very limited menu - cool venue mahi mahi cervece was deliicisous as was the ceaser salad. Bef tips were excellent annd the roasted chicken over polents was perfect and accented by a terrific barbeque based sauce. The bartended deserves special mention for fantastic drinks made with an entertaining flair
The food was amazing! Waiter was very nice and attentive.
Amazing experience from cocktails to dessert. Food and service were both exceptional
Amazing Service! Great ambiance. Food and drinks were great!
The New England chef dinner with chef Dooley - wow, yum!
My last experience eating at La Brasa, way before Covid, left a great memory. When I thought where to eat for my birthday, that memory emerged. Anticipating all those unique choices from before, more like a tapas menu, at 1st I was disappointed. The menu was completely different. Sides, appetizers & dinners. Pricey! But we went for it. And were NOT disappointed! I can't rave enough! It was the best, tastiest meal I can remember. We got our money's worth. 2 orders of Oysters, hushpuppies, ribeye, chicken - both so tender with sauces accompanying them I would never make myself. Enough for 2 more meals. The main courses came with a side of warm handmade blue corn tortillas & a flavorfull bowl of black beans. Do I dare mention that we both had their flan?!
The food in general was awesome and very fresh! My only thing was the churros, they were a little greasy. That’s the only thing, everything else was really good and top notch! My favorite was diabla pizza and flautas w mole. We did have a vegan friend come, wish there were some great vegan options other than salad. Drinks were 100% crafted and made w love! So good!
Very small portioned drinks
Amazing food, never disappoints. Great place for a wonderful meal, great cocktail, and nice wine.
