All of the food was delicious!
The service was also amazing.
Great place that could accommodate and larger group, while also being intimate for a smaller party.
Delicious appetizers (we ordered every one). Carne asada entree delicious as was the Halibut. Ambiance never disappoints
The restaurant had a great ambience and vibe. The service was not up to mark especially with the food taking more than an hour to arrive.
Great meal. Fabulous service behind the bar. A little pricey, but what’s not these days. Would recommend
The entrees were slightly warmer than room temperature, and nice without being amazing. Service was slow, but the manager on duty was pitching in and covering any gaps. The pinot noir was *Excellent,* as was the salsa that accompanied the chips.
The ceviche was fantastic and the tortillas piping hot. I had the chicken, it was fine but I wouldn't order it again.
Warm, inviting atmosphere and overall a lovely evening.
The openness inside La Brasa with its rustic walls and widely set tables is nice. We had a view of the fire which was great... Came with artist friends, ordered appetizers for the table, nice drinks and a delicious, easy-going meal. The servers were attentive but not obtrusive. It's one of our favorites.
Was a delicious meal and the staff is great - friendly and extremely customer service oriented.
My daughter and I had a lovely meal at La Brasa. We’ll be going again very soon.
Bland and forgettable
Quiet Friday night date. Food was beyond excellent. Service was great. Waitress was very attentive and food came out promptly. A little pricier but so worth it
Very tiny menu slow service
Such a wonderful meal and experience at La Brasa celebrating a special birthday! Ceviche appetizer, carne asada entree and boca negra dessert were all outstanding as was the service and atmosphere!
Short staffed made for slow service, but waitress was very nice. Food is mediocre and the menu is clunky.
Good food and drinks. Under staffed - had to wait 55 min from when we sat down to when we got our first drink. Will not be going back. I’ll make my own.
Service very good. As always, interesting and delicious and sophisticated food - one of my very favorite restaurants in Boston area. And I love looking into the windows of the nearby barber shop!
Great food in a great space. A real East Somerville gem.
I love Mexican food and I have been hunting for food that goes beyond tacos, enchiladas, and other "street" fare. I was at a loss and thought I would never find it. Then I came across La Brasa. Takes the words "Mexican" and "cuisine" and elevates them into an actual fine dining experience. We ordered just about half the menu and we were not disappointed. The only surprise was the guacamole which seemed to be creamed as opposed to chunky but the flavor was all there! The pork belly, the caesar salad, the steak, and the chips with mussels (pickled - surprise! Who knew!) all packed a flavor punch. We sat outside which was not the most ambient since it is on a main street. However, the patio was enclosed and very private; we did not notice the cars except for a few passersby during dinner.
Nothing but good things to say about this place. Great service, ambience, and the food is always delicious. Glad they have reopened, and appreciate the outdoor dining experience. Don't miss all the chips and dips. (or the corn & caesar salad!)
Excellent food, cool vibe. The halibut was crusted very nicely and delicious. I also enjoyed the steak and ceviche.
This is our favorite spot for dinner when visiting the Boston area. After attending an extraordinary wedding reception here in 2018, we take every opportunity to return to La Brasa. Uber out of downtown Boston and into Somerville for the best cuisine, service, and ambience. Looking forward to our next trip to Boston and another amazing dinner at La Brasa!
Very slow service, we got in at 8 pm, meal wasn’t served till 9:40
Everyone was nice food was delicious but definitely Understaffed
Great food and fun ambiance!
We went on a quiet Friday night. The 15 minute wait from when you sit down and have your drink order taken is good for first dates. Cesar salad is great, a little too much cheese for our taste. Ceviche and guacamole are the best appetizers. Try the taco but have sauce on the side, as it is spicy. Interesting interpretation of Mexican cuisine, some classics and some new items. Worth it.
Clearly still staffing back up post-pandemic, but the service was great. Food was delicious. The restaurant has a great vibe when full, but it was still relaxed and fun even though there wasn’t a big crowd. Hoping to see this place back to full capacity soon!
Honestly there is really nothing Mexican about this place. The environment was nice and all but the menu was so small and nothing Mexican on there menu besides tortillas and street corn. My group ended up just grabbing drinks (mediocre) and going somewhere else for dinner.
A delicious meal, fresh and savory, friendly service.
I selected the restaurant for the fish and appetizers for my granddaughters HS grad dinner (late due to my arrival north delayed). Fish was great - the appetizers were disappointing. Guacamole was runny an ceviche loaded with avocado (hardly any fish). Great deserts.
This place was below average. The food wasn’t bad and the drinks were fine, but there were such limited options, which made it really hard to find something for everyone to eat.
Thank you for a great experience.

Everything was Awesome! A gem of a restaurant. Highly recommend.
The place is very cute and gives a cool vibe. There is artwork walking towards the bathroom and they also have outside seating. The food gave Ethiopian meets American but we enjoyed everything. There is a red sauce served with the chips that is a tad bit spicy and the quesadilla is not like a regular quesadilla but it's good.
My wife ordered a spicy margarita and loved it.
The pork tamale was excellent!
Unfortunately no kid’s meals available. Steak my wife ordered was also good.
Overall our serve Christian a believe, was very good. The pork tamale was the best.
I love this place! It is a truly unique place with amazing food. You must go there now!
First time dining at La Brasa and I was impressed by the experience overall – we weren't able to reserve spots on the patio ahead of time, but they were able to seat us outside anyway. All the dishes were delicious – we ordered three different options to share and taste a variety, but we all loved our own plate and barely wanted to share!
Best of the best of Somerville authentic Mexican cuisine with Mexican chef and a great staff.
Do not hesitate to go.
The best traditional contemporary Mexican Restaurant I have had (this means a lot coming from someone born and raised in mexico city), they really cook in a traditional way, you cant never go wrong with them.!
Pretty good - I remember the menu being bigger + better but it was still a good experience!
I have never had a bad experience at A Brasa. Tonight the seafood ceviche was Devine- the perfect amount of citrus balanced with the avocado and blood oranges. The special pollo- chicken legs with mole. My taste buds are perfectly satiated. And the service was not rushed, polite and informative.
As always, I heartily recommend La Brasa!
Food was great! Cute place!
Nice place. It wasn't overwhelmingly amazing but not bad at all. A little loud for such small seating available in a large space. Ceviche was delicious.
