Kumi Japanese Restaurant + Bar - Mandalay Bay

It was really nothing special. The hostesses were friendly, the server was meh, and the items we ordered were nothing to get too excited about. The sake was delicious, but ridiculously overpriced for the value.
The hot mess roll is my new favorite roll of all time.
Kumi was recommended to me by a Caesars Palace concierge for a restaurant to go to before the Michael Jackson One show. The food and menu were good. Prices were high, but not a surprise. Service was uneven. Too many servers rushing around every which way. My wife and I both felt rushed even thought our food was slow to come out kitchen and one of our orders was missed. Should be easy to fix the hectic, uneven service; but it definitely needs to be fixed given the price point.
Great dinner for my girlfriends birthday
Overall appeal and aesthetics were on point! Friendly host and wait staff.
Food was very good, just thought the presentation of Roll would have been more extravagant.
Overall - Two thumbs Up
Great. Delicious food and drinks
Rolls were exceptional !
Food was absolutely amazing. I’ve had sushi in MANY places and I think this ranked up there with the BEST!!!
The chairs were in need of repair. The sushi rolls were poor quality - overall not a great experience. Would not remained this sushi restaurant.
delicious - cooked food and sushi outstanding - strong sake list as well
Great sushi service from kitchen slow this visit. No excuse to tell customers kitchen backed up
Great food and super service
Great experience......love the menu......outstanding Saki......larger groups +12 seem to be a challenge with a good flow of food, but the food is outstanding.
Excellent service and great tasting food. Highly recommended for everyone.
Absolutely delicious! Great food, great service, great atmosphere! I would highly recommend to anyone!
They need to add sound dampening/absorbing materials in the restaurant, when it’s crowded you literally need to yell to hear people.
Went on a date night and had the Hot Mess sushi roll. It was a great dinner!
Amazing restaurant!! It’s an excellent choice.
I was unhappy with the New Years eve fixed menu. I just wanted sushi. I felt it was overpriced. Would be good for celebrating a special occasion I guess. It was loud and kinda dark. I'm sure there are 25 other places one could go in Vegas.
Chose Kumi for NYE since it was close to a concert venue. Food was excellent with great variety of choices. Prices are on the high side but worth it for high end dining.
Late night dinner. Great sushi. Fantastic Kobe short ribs. Yummy lychee martini. Go there.
Ate here while pregnant and the chefs were very accommodating with food restrictions and alterations when necessary. Food was delicious.
Friendly professional service.
Delicious food. Great presentation.
Excellent wine, drinks.
Desert does not disappoint
Service, food and cocktails were all excellent.
Great sashimi; the bartender treated me to Japanese whiskey; a new delight to the staid palate of sashimi enjoyment. Thanks, guys!
Fabulous miso sea bass!!
Food and service was excellent. Monica the manager was awesome and our server Ben Simon was amazing.
We ordered wine and the Waiter was going to make selections for us, but after two disappointing mediocre dishes he forgot us and spent the rest of his time paying attention to the tables with larger parties (we were 2 diners). Another waitress noticed we had been sitting a very long time with no food or drink after the first 2 dishes and asked us how we were doing. She saw to it that we finally received our wine and a 3rd dish. More waiting in which our original waiter buzzed by apologizing that the other large group tables (that arrived after us) were taking his time. Another woman came by (manager?) and comped our wine with apologies. After that 3rd dish we left. Sad, it was a birthday dinner specifically here because of such a good experience a year ago. We won’t be back.
Beautiful decor, great ambiance for date night or special occasions. Ribeye great for sharing as it comes sliced and was prepared perfectly. Many wonderful sushi and sashimi options, very fresh and delicious. Very attentive, friendly and helpful service without being intrusive. Highly recommend!
Kumi is one of my favorite restaurants. It is my go to when I want to celebrate someone or something, I know I will receive top notch service as well as amazing food!
3RD Time eating here. first two times were a 10. This time sushi (fish)was not cold enough and rice was very dry. Hope this is just a fluke. Awesome service!!
Good quality sushi and knowledgeable staff with great service!
Two words: Gummy rice. The service was fine but the rice was just terrible. I’ve had better sushi at Whole Foods. Barely edible, left hungry.
Fabulous and romantic. Great service and fantastic food
Very Good to Excellent. 4.5 stars. YES we would go back. LONGER REVIEW: We are Vegas Locals and this was our third time to Kumi and it was moderately busy for a Saturday night. We are a fan of Akira Back (the owner), having been to several of his restaurants including Singapore. SERVICE: Had a reservation and was seated promptly in a nice booth by request. Service was Excellent - always there when you needed them. CUISINE: We did a "home style sharing buffet" of Tempura Shrimp, Miso Cod, Scottish Salmon entree, and Kobe Beef tacos. All very good to excellent. Wines by the glass had an adequate list - some of the cocktails looked very interesting. OVERALL: This is a nice Go-To Japanese place in Mandalay Bay that satisfies. YES we would go back.
Food is wonderful. The noise Level is extraordinary high, no conversation possible other than with your direct neighbour.
Had the pleasure of hosting key customers at Kumi Restaurant at Mandaly Bay - Las Vegas. Our waiter recommended the "Taster Option" and we turned the chore of selection over to him. He did not disappoint. One of my guest said the meal may have been the best he has ever had in Vegas, and he's a regular. Exceptional interactive service and unique & spectacular food choices left us all significantly impressed!
Very disappointing expereince. Had a business dinner with colleagues during a trade show at Mandalay. Seated on time, waiter was initially attentive. After taking our order, appetizers came out fairly quickly. We ate and then waited a fairly long time, I tried to find our waiter after but nowhere to be found. He eventually comes by to ask if we are finished and I point out we hadn't gotten entrees, he went back to the kitchen to check only to come back to say he neglected to put in the order. He asked us to re-order, while we were telling him what we ordered he was telling us what he recalled our ordering, and then while we were still telling him he essentially walked away to turn in our order. Shows up fairly quickly with the entrees, but 2 rolls seemed to be double orders; I caught him and asked if they were 1 or 2 orders on both dishes, he just mumbled that it was a single and that was our order. When the check came sure enough he charged us twice on each of the rolls, I objected as we didn't order or eat the duplicates; I thought he was going to remove the extra charges but he didn't. At this point, I was late for an event so just paid as I didn't have time to speak with the manager.
