Two words: Gummy rice. The service was fine but the rice was just terrible. I’ve had better sushi at Whole Foods. Barely edible, left hungry.
Fabulous and romantic. Great service and fantastic food
Very Good to Excellent. 4.5 stars. YES we would go back. LONGER REVIEW: We are Vegas Locals and this was our third time to Kumi and it was moderately busy for a Saturday night. We are a fan of Akira Back (the owner), having been to several of his restaurants including Singapore. SERVICE: Had a reservation and was seated promptly in a nice booth by request. Service was Excellent - always there when you needed them. CUISINE: We did a "home style sharing buffet" of Tempura Shrimp, Miso Cod, Scottish Salmon entree, and Kobe Beef tacos. All very good to excellent. Wines by the glass had an adequate list - some of the cocktails looked very interesting. OVERALL: This is a nice Go-To Japanese place in Mandalay Bay that satisfies. YES we would go back.
Food is wonderful. The noise Level is extraordinary high, no conversation possible other than with your direct neighbour.
Had the pleasure of hosting key customers at Kumi Restaurant at Mandaly Bay - Las Vegas. Our waiter recommended the "Taster Option" and we turned the chore of selection over to him. He did not disappoint. One of my guest said the meal may have been the best he has ever had in Vegas, and he's a regular. Exceptional interactive service and unique & spectacular food choices left us all significantly impressed!
Very disappointing expereince. Had a business dinner with colleagues during a trade show at Mandalay. Seated on time, waiter was initially attentive. After taking our order, appetizers came out fairly quickly. We ate and then waited a fairly long time, I tried to find our waiter after but nowhere to be found. He eventually comes by to ask if we are finished and I point out we hadn't gotten entrees, he went back to the kitchen to check only to come back to say he neglected to put in the order. He asked us to re-order, while we were telling him what we ordered he was telling us what he recalled our ordering, and then while we were still telling him he essentially walked away to turn in our order. Shows up fairly quickly with the entrees, but 2 rolls seemed to be double orders; I caught him and asked if they were 1 or 2 orders on both dishes, he just mumbled that it was a single and that was our order. When the check came sure enough he charged us twice on each of the rolls, I objected as we didn't order or eat the duplicates; I thought he was going to remove the extra charges but he didn't. At this point, I was late for an event so just paid as I didn't have time to speak with the manager.
We enjoyed our dinner from start to finish! Can’t wait to go back. My new favorite sushi in Vegas!
Very attentive and good food
sat at the sushi bar just as they opened for dinner and had some great conversation with the chef and a couple of the staff. very friendly. seafood quality seemed fairly high and i enjoyed a carafe the the the featured sake.
Absolutely wonderful. Delicious food and attentive service.
This was not a great place to go to. We chose it because we were going to go to the Michael Jackson show at the Mandalay. I found the environment to be tired, the food uninspired and expensive for what it was and the service mediocre.
The ambiance is mediocre, loud and dark walls give an eerie feeling (but that seems to be that part of Mandalay Bay Casino's theme).
Service was a little too quick and robotic, no personal caring involved.
Limited desserts, my cocktail tasted odd (and it was simple tequila and tonic).
But great quality food.
Excellent service led by Robert and Daniel.
Great selection of food and great service. Kinda a pricey.
Excellent as always. The sushi is outstanding. Far better than any other restaurant we have been. Waitress was awesome!
We had a table of 14.
Overall, the meal was “OK” and about what you would expect. However, for that many people... the single waiter was overwhelmed. Basic service was very slow.
The Resturant had a good crowd, but not too busy. This is Mandalay Bay for Pete’s Sake, we just expected more.
Late bite. Food was okay. Service was a little lackluster. Not a bad choice if you are nearby but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.
A bit expensive, but excellent in every way. Food, cocktails, super friendly staff, ambiance.
Highly recommend pop rock sushi. It is a magical mouth experience.
Our waiter was Allen and he was wonderful. Always had a smile and checked on us but not too much that it affected our meal. He was our waiter a year and a half ago as well. The food was delicious as always
A must for a stay in Las Vegas if you are up for a great Japanese restaurant experience.
Reserve a table upfront (e.g. with opentable) as this is a popular place.
very good service and very fresh sushi at reasonable prices
The food was amazing! The waiters were great. Our favourite fish was probably the Soft Shell Crab sushi!
Amazing! The tuna truffle pizza and Japanese eggplant with mozzarella are decadent and delicious.
Nice restaurant. No problems, not blown away. I’m spoiled in San Francisco and San Mateo. For those prices the sushi is so much better in the Bay Area.
Outstanding location at Mandalay - the attention of the servers particularly Caroline was perfect. The sushi is outstanding the flavor and careful dedication in preparation was unparalleled.
Timelines of the meals was perfect. I will definitely come back again when in Vegas.
One of the best Japanese restaurants in Las Vegas but it is more expensive. The sushi is excellent. Service is excellent. It is a very nice restaurant .
Great food. Great atmosphere. We enjoyed ourselves a great deal.
Went o. The recommendation of a friend who is a hostess there Danni. Was as advertised. Overheard it was my birthday and sent over a little desert. Nice touch.
Waitress was great!
Another wonderful dinner at Kumi! Try the pop rockin’ roll and the hot mess, they’re perfect!
I have always wanted to try this place and during restaurant week it made it affordable. The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. Absolutely everything was unique and delicious.
Our waitress was helpful, friendly & bubbly. A little loud for a hearing impaired customer. The food was out of this world.
Good food. Great service.
By far one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve been too . It beats nobu.
The protein roll is greater, he octopus is to die for .
You won’t be disappointed . Everything we tried was good .
we've eaten here a few times. service our most recent trip was poor. service was slow as they forgot to put our order in, and they did not check in as you would expect from a high-service vegas restaurant.
Excellent service and excellent food. Very nice layout and just a comfortable atmosphere. Interesting deserts.
After reading several reviews, I was a bit apprehensive, but were very pleasantly surprised and please with what a wonderful meal we had. The service was superb. Our server was very pleasant, honest, knowledgeable and very informative. The food was simply outstanding and the space was beautiful. We tried several different sushi and sashimi dishes as well as the sizzling steak and chicken dishes. They were all great. Although a bit pricy, at Kumi, you certainly get what you pay for. I would go back in a heart beat and would not hesitate to recommend Kumi to anyone.
Amazing food great location but larger parties can come in and overpower your quiet meal
