Such a great atmosphere and selection of food. I was in town on a business trip with 3 other colleges, so finding a food option that we all enjoyed can be difficult. We had one unsure sushi eater and there were plenty of options for that person if they didn't want sushi.
The restaurant was beautiful, and felt like you stepped away from the Vegas hustle. We were lucky enough to sit the cherry blossom atrium area. Gorgeous! The light fixture was so neat we were all really fans the decor. Being in Vegas both the food and restaurant should be unique and I definitely think Kumi hit those requirements.
I had the Hot Mess roll, it was great. Not to spicy, but still had enough kick. Between the 4 of us we ordered a roll each and one to share. It was the perfect amount of food. Great quality for the price.
This is probably become a go to when I return to Vegas.
Kumi was so good the first time, that I went back again and was not disappointed. The food was very good, but the server didn't seem to know the menu well. (I was trying to order something I had before and couldn't figure out what it would be on the menu.)
This is a great place to have a quiet moment (or a date) in a noisy town! I highly recommend giving it a try, but you have to like fish!
I gave three stars because the food was actually good, but the service was terrible all the way around. Some of it was to blame on the wait staff and some to blame on the kitchen. It took over 30 min for 1 California roll to start out. Then we ordered a steak, two sushi rolls and a miso soup. We were told the steak would take a bit longer and the rolls may come out first, which was fine. I then received my steak and was done eating before my wife’s rolls came out (after we continuously asked about them). My wine I ordered with my steak never came out. The miso soup arrived well after the rolls, because the they forgot to put it in. It was a Sunday night and they were not terribly busy, otherwise, I would be a little more understanding. My wife has a conference at Mandalay Bay and we eat hear every year, but may have to rethink eating here next year after this experience.
The servers at Kumi were outstanding. Their attention to detail and their charm made us feel comfortable and well cared for. My water glass was never lower then half full. We were checked on by multiple servers in a polite and effective way. We dined on New Years Eve and had the priced fixed meal. The meal was one of the best priced fixed meals we had. All of the courses were delicious and plentiful. You will not leave hungry. They made a special occasion special.
Food was good but it took forever to get it. We were a party of 10, some got parts of their meal, while others had to wait ‘forever’. We had 4 kids in our party and one of the boys got his order when we all had completed ours. Not good. Food should arrive at the same time.
A star among may exceptional restaurants in Las Vegas. Kumi Japanese really stood out. Highly recommend the "pizza" and seared albacore. They were both so good we came back and ordered them again! There are many sushi/Japanese restaurants in Las Vegas but this one really went out of the way to be unique. Worth every penny -
Whenever we come to Las Vegas this is always a spot we usually make (we is quiet often), however, the last couple times the service and customer service level was awful. Our food didn’t come out for a LONG TIME when our order came out it was totally messed up and nobody came to our table for a good amount of time to let them know our order was incorrect.
This restaurant has a weird menu - not really Japanese and mixed with American food. Preparation of the dishes was average and the flavors were off. Go to MOzen for a much better experience. This place is over priced and over hyped.
Service is attentive but they tend to treat you lie you have no idea about food.
Our whole party loved this restaurant during our Vegas trip. The food is made with quality ingredients and elegantly presently. It is definitely more upscale than other nearby options, which was what we were looking for. Quality and quick (without being rushed) service as well. One item of note: the crispy rice. We ordered this on a whim, not sure what it was, and all loved it!
We had reservations for a business meal, were seated right on time, and had an exceptional staff experience. Everyone that visited our table was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and able to answer very specific diet questions. The atmosphere was fun but not loud, and the menu has a wide variety for all tastes, including very unique dishes. I have eaten here in the past and would do so again in the future.
A very enjoyable meal. Best part was Miso Glazed Cod, Toban Filet and Tuna Sashami. Had 3 other dishes all shared but these were outstanding.
Just remember a sushi meal is not a Meat and Potato experience. Go to enjoy your taste buds not fill your belly. You won't starve so don't deny yourself the experience
excited to find this is part of the same group that owns Yellowtail at Bellagio, one of my favorite sushi restaurants in LV. Food was just as good...a must try for sushi lovers and don't miss the Tuna pizza with truffle oil. Always great. One of the great things about both restaurants is sitting at the bar and a great staff. Impressed they remember us year after year.
Expense, but good sushi. However, the service was terrible. I had to track down our waiter twice to follow up on food and drink orders. Rarely came back and asked if we needed anything. This with a party of 6 people on a business dinner and a $500 tab with the gratuity included. Why should I have to ask for soy and wasabi at a sushi place? Very disappointed.
Food was quite good, unique cocktails were outstanding, but the environment - sitting right next to a busy convention center walkway, with loud music coming from a restaurant across the way, made discussion at the table nearly impossible. If you go, insist on a table near the back, where the noise level might be tolerable.
